Post-Game Talk: Habs lose again in OT!

Before anyone calls 3 on 3 and the shootout a gimmick, it’s part of the NHL, get use to it it’s not going away. The Habs need to learn how to play it because they’ve lost 9 points because of it. Yeah the playoffs is 5 on 5 in OT but they may miss the playoffs because of their regular season OT record.

Even when Habs had possession in OT, they spent it mostly in their own zone always going backwards.

Spending the entire OT trying to get a breakaway... this is why I always say 3on3 is barely different than a shootout

Gimmick, or not you need those extra points to make the playoffs and it's part of coaching.

This team may as well pull the goalie if they can ever manage to get a face off in the offensive zone in overtime. Just take your chance with the 4 on 3 with an empty net.

Isn't there a rule which takes the point from you if you get scored on in that situation?

We cycled the puck endlessly in OT to try to be "safe". What happened? The second we turned it over the Canucks wasted no time and attacked the zone...

Stupid hesitant play there in OT.

Nahh it's not coaching. The lineup is mediocre.

Regardless of the lineup, when you keep starting your worst forward and 3rd best center that is known for his defensive abilities 4 times in a row in OT when it bites you in the ass, you are a horrible coach. First and maybe second time is excusable, not after that.
