I care about his performance every time Price went down to injury.. Its been brutal every time. We have a young goalie who can come in and perform admirably.

This was an audition because he's on the bubble against tokarski and he looked brutal.

There's no coincidence that they turned to Tokarski in the play offs because they don't trust Budaj when it matters. Factor in the cap savings, its a no brainer.

Budaj's a good back up and Tokarski needs to play more games and get more experience, there's no issue here really everything works out perfectly.

It's not like we can trade Budaj to the get rid of his cap anyway, we should just let him finish off his contract.

Not very logical throwing good money after bad.
Unless you thin Dustin will completely tank?
He will still retain value while Budaj...
Not so much.

Wouldn't Tokarski go on waivers if he were sent down? Someone would surely take him, no? It's not worth the risk. Tokarski should be the #2 guy.

We'll have to pay Budaj no matter if he's in the AHL or NHL and he'll count against the cap both ways. Nobodys going to trade for him and plus he actually does his job as a back up pretty well if he doesn't have to be counted on for too long.

Yes but if Markstrom went unclaimed, so will Tokarski. There just isn't a market for goalies and every team has enough.

Cause Markstrom proved he can handle the Stress of an ECF?

It boils down to what MB thinks and he clearly feels someone will grab him.
Leafs...Bruins...RedWings...

I suspect a lot of coaches and gm's will take notice after last night. Play Montreal tough, you'll get them off their game and they are easy to play against. You watch, the other teams won't bother trying to beat this club with skill... they will send out the size and toughness.

Someone tell princess Tinordi he has a job to do, the smurfs need him to step up.

No cap savings if he's not claimed. In fact, it adds more money to the books.

Wrong. If Budaj is waived and goes to Hamilton, I believe we save $925,000 of his salary off the cap, and Tokarski's NHL hit is only 562,500, so a net saving of $362,500k in cap space.

I'm sorry but where was Tinordi in all this? At this point in his career he's fairly useless as a hockey player, but tonight he proved he was useless as a teammate. Handle the puck like a hot potato all you want, but when a perennial cellar dweller picks on your all stars you need to send a message.

Gutless coward. You can see it in his eyes, his dad is ashamed of him.

Did he sleep with your wife or something?
