In this way, it sounds like Weekes is an insider without saying anything at all.

that being said, moving Varlamov makes a lot of sense for the Islanders but I think at this time, he'd be hard to move for a reasonable return

nowhere for now. However, I think some of the goalies are on shorter leashes. If some of the goalies underperforms within the first 10 games, that would be the time to possibly move him.

Can't imagine VGK needing one after getting Adin Hill. Maybe a team has a nagging injury to a goalie that might not heal in time for the season?

Mikey Dipetro still needs a home.

5th round pick should get the trade done. low risk , high reward

Arizona seemingly with an NHL backup spot to fill and Philadelphia still in limbo with Fedotov? Montreal probably will sign an AHL goalie to go with Primeau. Handful of teams maybe will add a 5th goalie for insurance.

Edit: Dallas/New Jersey probably wouldn't mind offloading Khudobin/Bernier if they are medically cleared but I can't imagine there'd be a buyer there. Some AHL vets looking for a landing spot: Garret Sparks, Chris Gibson, J.F. Berube, Callum Booth.

Limbo is over--Fedotov avoided prosecution by signing with CSKA. The Flyers 100% need a backup so that's my first thought here, though they have practically no cap space because lol why would they.

He’s an undersized AHL backup. Where is the potential for the high reward?

His development was stunted during the pandemic, he is undersized, but that has never been his strength. He has dominated every level before turning pro, and like i said his pro stint thus far has been anything but "regular"

Many goalies with less of a proven resume than Dipietro have received chances, Mikey can make a team that takes a chance on him look really good if he every reached his draft day projection.

Chuck Fletcher should get on the horn to Patrik Allvin in Vancouver and ask about the availability of Michael Dipetro.

Fletcher was really bad drafting throw away picks in the later rounds in the 2022 draft so trading Vancouver a 2023 5th for Dipetro shouldn’t be an issue.

Zona, Philly, Minnesota, Chicago?

Minnesota seemingly set (for now) with Filip Gustavsson as backup.

Chicago gave a one way deal to Alex Stalock to help with their 'bad by design' roster. Although I suppose it wouldn't be crazy if they took Khudobin (assuming he's cleared) with a sweetener. Dallas could use a little extra cap space to sign Robertson.

Would love for it to be Khudobin but who knows, that's a decent sized cap move this late in the offseason
