Pretty underwhelming home opener tbh, (at least after the first two periods) but I fault the Blackhawks with that, I liked our game.

What did the Blackhawks have to offer besides SN mentioning Bedard every 5 seconds?

I tuned in late in the first period and it was pretty maddening to see stick taps being called against Montreal, yet bedard's team didn't even get called for anything once.

This looks like crosby treatment all over again.

So yeah not a masterpiece, but early on in the season, when all things are still possible, I'm not going to root against this team. Newhook looked great picking up the slack for Dach, and I thought Slaf used his size well this game. Matheson continues to move the puck really well and I thought Guhle had some great moments. Caufield had a nice goal, and I'm happy to see Pearson get his first with us early. Monty was solid I'm rooting for him to take the 1G chair by force
