Barron isn’t ready. Leskinen, Scheuneman, and Bowey don’t look like they can hold down that 6/7 spot consistently. I can’t say I know anything about Kovacevic, but even if he’s just AHL material it’s a solid pick up.

Not surprised at all. Not a high reward move but deserves a shot at being a third pairing defenseman. Had a great AHL year last year natural progression was third pair NHL where he will be with the Habs

If it fails, no major loss, he will still be a great add in the AHL. Won't be surprised if we also put a claim on juuso valimaki today.

"I think we will regret waiving him.

I think he is a DeMelo type with a little more offence (not much, but some). Maybe not quite as good defensively, but he also brings a physical game that DeMelo doesn't have.

Flew under the radar here for too long.

It wasn't necessary to waive him, so I suspect it was Chevy giving him a chance to play somewhere else."

AWRIGHT ! A big RHD who was the best defender for the Jets AHL team last two seasons. Mature enough at 25. Ready for NHL play.

GOOD MOVE HUGHES !

Third pairing of Xhekaj and him coming up !
