Apparently someone did the math wrong somewhere along the line and it kept getting repeated that he needed 7 days down to get the extra year when it was actually only 5. That they lined him up for this Friday only added to that confusion

The Jays should hopefully be all over Folty. Legit could be our 2nd best starter if he has any of the magic left from 2018.

Edit: looks like a significant fb velo drop the past couple years to not even averaging over 91mph today. Is he injured? How else does your fastball drop ~5mph at age 28

Even with the huge velocity drop and his 2018 season being such a huge outlier, I would put a claim in on Folty, throw him in the pen, and see if he can get it together in low leverage situations.

If the team thinks its just a strength thing, id say claim him. If its a 'between the ears' problem, you never know when a guy just looses 'it'

Im betting this season doesnt last much longer if the Covid numbers weve seen so far keep happening.
If the league's season is suspended, send him some weights and a metric crap ton of protein lol.

Even if its not, just have him throw once a week and weight train the rest of the time to try and get his velocity back up.
