My favorite part about trades is the team trading the asset wants certain prospects, but after the trade when they don't get those assets, they rationalize how good of a deal it is. And the team receiving the asset gives up more than they wanted to, but rationalize how good of a deal it is because they didn't have to give up other assets.

You could not target Bunting in this deal and sign a Bunting equivalent player in free agency for no assets.

If Bunting takes away any value from futures for Guentzel, Dubas is being an idiot.

Makes plenty of sense considering the Canes already have a full lineup of forwards who deserve playing time.

If they traded for Guentzel with no forward going back a solid depth guy like Martinook or Fast probably gets pushed out of the lineup, which is a waste.
