Argentina needs to fire Sampaoli regardless of outcome. If, in his own words, Messi is the one who sets up the team then they a)dont need him and b) he is detrimental with his team decisions.

But I dont recall a team ever firing a coach going into the R16

Mexico has tons, too. It's one of the mysteries of this World Cup that somehow there's all these Latin Americans and not a whole lot of Europeans even from countries fairly close to Russia.
