It's the most wonderful time of the year!

No kidding - can't wait here! Group B is going to be so tight, all apologies to Sweden but today's CAN-RUS game just might be the battle to decide #1. (and the team that doesn't have to worry about USA until the finals!)

Does anyone know if Canada will go with the same lines they used against Finland? Swapping C's Sean Couturier & Ryan Johansen seemed to work.

I thought so. It would've been a pitty, if Hamilton would've been the 13th forward like the original post says. He played so well against Finland. I can't understand why Eakin is on the 4th line though.

Maybe cause Eakin's been one of the worst forwards for Canada in the pre-tournament.

Anyway:

Team CAN F lines: Schwartz-Schenn-Leblanc; Foligno-Johansen-Kassian; Howden-Couturier-Hamilton; Eakin-Cizikas-Ashton; Connolly in, 13th F.

Russia 7, Canada 6.

Americans applaud every time Canadians touch the puck, in marked contrast to expected no-class boo-fest majority of Canadians will display every time an American plays the puck in a Team USA game.

Tarasenko figures in on every Russian goal, Schwartz on every Canadian goal. :)

What you really beleave the americans are going to clap everytime canada touches the puck if so your likely going to be in for a shock. As booing is classless that maybe to a degree but fans of all teams do it for the most part don't act like its just canadians that do it lots of fans do it.

Don't forget, Buffalo is on the Canadian boarder. This game might as well be played on Canadian soil, because it is going to be an overwhelmingly Canadian crowd. That and the native Buffalo fans will be heavily cheering for Kassian and Foligno. Both are Sabre draft picks, and Foligno's father is a former Sabres captain who was very popular with the fans.

Exactly - 4/5 of the arena today are Canadian fans so it might as well be a home game!
