My brother and I use a glitch where you can repeat "The Bogdan Problem" heist and make about $3m each an hour.

Normally I am VERY VERY anti-cheating in any type of online game, however Rockstar makes the money SOO difficult to earn legitimately and everything is such an insultingly high price that I don't feel bad in the slightest for cheating to make money. I never realized that you can make an entire game into a money-sink but that's exactly what they've done.

by the way it works in RDR2 aswell.......

Rockstar is so greedy that they won't add any updated content to single player, forcing you to play Online where everything is overpriced to drive Shark Card sales.

Imagine how fun the game would be if they didn't go completely overboard with MTX.

aren’t there rumours that GTA VI will be only online ? If it’s anything like the online now with the same missions over and over I will be passing. I only really played for the single players experience.

I always get excited for new GTA games then I play them and get bored. I don't know - they just aren't exciting anymore. The language and violence was edgy back in the day but today its kind of 'meh'. I didn't have any fun with the online when it was first released and probably played less than 2hr's of it.

All that said I am glad they made a bunch of good updates for it. Just not my cup of tea.

I hear this. I still play it but it isn't as new and exciting as Vice City was back in the day. As far as online goes, I've never played it so I have no idea how it evolved. Even the new RDR was a bit of a disappointment to me. It looks beautiful but it lost something from 2010's version

Honestly surprised at how many people still play this game, was watching some streams and someone installed it over the weekend and is heisting with a crew now (although he is new so he just does his own thing when the team is trying to raid the meathouse  then wonders why he was kicked from the party)

After watching all those streams over the weekend I figured I'd reinstall and it's pretty good so far. Mainly work with heists at the moment.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I still LOVE the GTA universe and the ability they have to immerse you in their world, but yeah the vulgarity and over-the-topness is just a bit watered down at this point.

I didn't play Red Dead Revolver or Redemption 1, but I found RDR2 to have absolutely NAILED the balance of vulgarity without going way overboard so as to take away from the atmosphere.

man TAA in GTA5 just does nothing. I realize it was a sort of after the fact add-on but still, the anti-aliasing in this game is so bad and the shadows look like crap even on ultra.

Fortunately i have the graphics card to max out msaa but still.

edit: ah the shadows are a lot better when you turn the softness up, but still, jaggies. Also, another product of its era, majorly noticable cascading with shadows and texture filtering even maxed out, im sure mods can fix it.

I haven't played this game since ps3, I know the ps3 looks way worse but in my memory it was amazing.

Lol, it feels really weird playing this game with all the civil unrest south of the border and having story missions where you just mow down police officers. I last played this on the ps3 and man a lot of stuff just seems in such bad taste. Like you're hanging with the boys one moment relaxing and the next youre waterboarding a guy or killing police or military. And the annoying thing is these guys just go along with it. I've had this issue since GTA4, the protagonists are always trying to go legit and get out of the criminal life, but they're so easily convinced to just murder people, like it takes no effort. Nico was a million times worse with that but michael and franklin are almost just as bad.

I guess i just dont see the satire people talk about so much.

Anyone watch any RP on facebook? WhiteRhino is awesome.
So I haven't actually seen RP on FB but there are a few channels dedicated to RP on Twitch. However the ones I've been watching are mostly Taiwanese and my understanding of the language is somewhat limited. It's interesting to see what they do and how they act though they basically use police mods which allow them to drive cars, hang out in the PD, etc.

(and this was a few weeks ago) ;)

There are a couple that are good WhiteRhino09 and Brezey's World are good. Different servers. Rhino is also working on a zombie server.

There needs to be a Murder Lester mission.
I love how you get bombarded with calls the second you join a game. There's no way to mute them all?

"We're still on for that thing, right? Buy a safehouse. This will make all our heists look so petty."

Well I can't afford one

A lot of this stuff hit differently in 2013, and the preceding years when the game was in development. Waterboarding was a much fresher issue, as were Iraq-era references like Merrywater Security working with the IAA to basically loot government funds. Michael is a Tony Soprano spoof, Franklin is not far off Ice Cube's character in Friday... not sure if Trevor is supposed to be someone specific but I bet he was. Those references have lost a lot of their punch by now.

In general the game really plays off of the post-Iraq, Recession-era ethos. A lot of cynicism about the purpose of the military, the role of corporations, mental health, the role of the police, vapid mass-media distractions, the death of any pretense of an American Dream.

The storyline revolves around characters who exist in that world, who are nominally "trying" to go legitimate, but who by their very nature are unable to exist outside an ecosystem of violence and exploitation. They can't escape the system because they were never good guys to begin with. They were created by violence and exploitation... in trying to escape that dynamic, they end up re-immersing themselves right back in it again. Kind of like people wanting to invade a country in order to stop terrorism, or shoring up the economy by giving billions in free public funding to robber-baron CEOs.

And yes, it was very tasteless. That was mostly deliberate... the product of a time when the world outside your window was just as tasteless.

Niko was a soldier during a civil war where he saw/was involved in war crimes. It's not that much of a stretch for him to go around killing people.

So I am doing more research into RP since DougIsRaw is streaming a lot on Twitch and this is REALLY good

I started joining RP servers myself yesterday and am continuing to try this stuff out. Note: many of them require Discord or Steam (or both) open

The shit you can do online is just mind boggling and so much fun. And the servers are much more active than a GTA O one. Some of them have 500 in them (freeroam) but the RP's mostly have around 100 or 200 (still better than 32 for GTAO)

I would strongly recommend everyone get FiveM and start looking into RP because it's just fun shit. Go online, do a job, raise money, grind your way to the top.

Rhino just got done remaking his server. Check out the WR09 server if you get a chance.
