Saarijärvi is the only real disappointment, imo. Smith is learning to be a pro and never will be a point-scorer. You don't read his development from stats.

Svechnikov is injured.

Who else is there? Hicketts and Sulak will never be regular NHLrs.

I was once hoping either Ehn or Holmström to pan out, happy if either does. Ehn already did it thanks to his better skating an Holmström is still having skating issues.

David Pope, totally in the shadows. That's maybe a guy expected most, still as a long shot.

***

All in all, that team is mostly full of AHL veterans, and crap prospects, it's not build around Wings legit prospects, except Zadina. Hronek was great and he got promoted, but that was nothing but expected. He had the potential. Be great = you get promoted.

We have seen a change in our drafting, that our most legitimate prospects are in different leagues. Or, in promoted NHL.

Is Rybar going to want to stick around that long making peanuts in the AHL?

Yeah I was going to say this as well... He's starting to raise eyebrows. If a goalie is moved he could be looked as a developmental starter playing as back up for the Red Wings.

I think one of the biggest issues with Rybar is going to be that he only gets one season of waiver exemption. So if he ends up having a big finish to this season or gets a look at the NHL and does well in a small sample, they have to make a quick decision or risk losing him...

From what I have seen here in GR, Rybar is much better than Sateri so far this season. Sateri had a rough start at the beginning, but Rybar has been consistent the whole season. He was the star of the game tonight in Milwaukee. Holds his position well and he does not go down right away when forwards move in. Not the quickest going side to side, but he has looked great overall so far. Will most likely see him play one of the two games this weekend here in GR vs Belleville.

Rybar in goal for the Griffins again tonight here in GR in the first of 2 games vs the Belleville Senators. Brian Lashoff is back and is in the lineup tonight. Carter Camper is out (6th veteran).
