Ferraro has certainly picked it up lately, good to see.

For all the talk about Ouellet and Sproul around here, Marchenko might be our best defenseman prospect.

Came in here to say it seems like Ferraro is really heating up lately.

I disagree on the second part. Marchenko does look really solid but hes also used to playing with pros, long term I think youll see the other 2 end up better. Especially Sproul who has adapted really quick and hasnt lost any offense it seems

Marchenko is also older than Sproul and Ouellet with experience playing against men in a pro league.
I think the 3 of them have been about equally as good.

I love Pulu's game. A great passer and fairly strong on his skates. Has a howitzer of a shot as well. He should have been in GR last year for the whole year, that extra year in Finland did him more bad than good.

Not really. He got in shape physically, worked on his skating and worked on becoming a more complete player. You shouldn't look at his stats too much from last season, the team had huge issues with injuries and trouble scoring after Erik Karlsson left.

i agree. it might have dropped him a bit on wings depth chart, but it wasn't a waste and it didn't hurt him.

I agree. Most comments made about him that year was he will never make it because of his skating and defensive game aren't there. Now the comments are how his skating and defensive game are a surprise.

Long-term. Pulkkinen a Red Wing? I know he's a hit or miss type of guy.

Pulks has just been getting a lot of ice time since Ny-Q came up to stay and he is scoring at .8 PPG. His passing is good to great and he has the knack of being in the right place to shoot (kinda like Hull). If he gets to 1 PPG, he's a lock to come up

Grif vs Wild 0-0 after 1

interesting, fournier & oullette 1st pair

Paetsch maybe injured as Grifs use only 4 vets

Paetsch was left behind because they were planning on scratching him, Tootoo called up flew out of Iowa today. The Griffins had already left Paetsch at home and in the AHL they aren't going to fly somebody for that.

Yeah. They are playing already with 7 defencemen, so Paetch would not have made a difference.

Frk would have been the better call-up.

Looks like Parkes and Aubry were called up before him (both currently playing against Iowa).

Parkes has been outplaying Frk in Toledo, really Parkes is the only one playing well in Toledo. At least by the stat sheets.

Callahan with a great setup to Emmerton in OT, very skilled play, nice finish by Emmerton as he blows it high and in for the goal.

Really a great rush by Callahan and he pulled up in order to take full advantage of the two on one he created.

sounds like they cheated one of Sproul or Evans out of an assist cannot remember who head-maned the puck for it.

Paetsch can actually play wing as well, at least he did in the NHL from time to time.

Time for our weekly this is absurd Griffins update you get while cruising the AHL website.

They are tied for the highest goals in the league at 102, with Abbotsford (also for first in the Western Conference at 42 points) while having three games in hand.

Tied for the lowest goals allowed at 60 with Springfield while having played two more games. Toronto at 62 with the Griffins having played two more would be the team in conference.

The teams they do have games in hand on have given up significantly more goals, so that part is extremely unlikely to change even if they got blown out for some reason.

The Griffins +42 goal differential blows away the entire league, the second and third placed teams combined come up -1 to them.

2nd.) Springfield +21 Eastern Conference
T3rd.) Albany +20 Eastern Conference
T3rd.) Texas +20
5th.) Abbotsford +18

Poor Rochester is a -5, a huge reason for that is their -13 in their 3 matchups against the Griffins.

This team is a machine, they are tearing apart this league. 17-3 in their last 20 games.

Definitely bodes well for the Wings' future.

Basically, Blashill is building himself one hell of a resume.
