Looking forward to the game. Hope that Hayton plays, both for Canada's chances and to see if the Russian players go after him.

In their first match, everything seemed to fall into place for Russia. They couldn't do anything wrong. No one expects that in this one. It should be a great match, with goaltending likely the difference.

Goaltending and discipline are crucial at this stage. Best way for Russia to get back at Hayton is by winning.

Russia beat Sweden, and Sweden beat Finland, and Finland beat the U.S. and the U.S. beat Russia, and Russia beat Canada.....so clearly that means Russia is the better team. :sarcasm:

You’d be crazy to think Canada will be getting blown out again. I expect a physical game with Canada seeking redemption.

Without looking at actual records, I have the impression this seldom happens twice in tournaments. Canada's done their homework by now, and often get more serious as the tournament progresses. Still, despite a convincing, almost clinical performance tonight, I still somewhat hesitate to say Canada wins it.

Russia is also very mobile and highly skilled. They lost their cool and gave up PP chances to Sweden. They'd better keep it cool tomorrow. Canada was just lethal on their chances. If they keep it cool, they'll be strong.

My heart says Russia, but my gut is quite afraid of Canada. Gonna be a good one tomorrow.

Canada has the best player in the tournament, who's also played like the best player in the tournament, Hofer has settled nicely into the starting role, and they'll be looking for redemption after that dreadful performance against Russia in the preliminary round.

Still, I wouldn't count the Russians out. Looking forward to a great game.

Normally i say it s time for Russia. But Canada want to make amends for the bitter defeat in RR. I bet the Russians win in OT again.

Sounds like Hayton has a sprained wrist. Hasn't been ruled out so its definitely not a fracture.

I’m liking Canada here; only insofar that beating the same team twice in this tourney is an uphill battle.
