So...our enforcers aren't getting the job done? What's the solution?
We don't have enforcers, and enforcers don't do much of anything in the modern NHL.
Player A hits player B.
Team of player B gets upset.
Team of player B sends their goon after the goon of the team from player A.
No lesson is learned by player A as he had no price to pay.
Solution? Change the rules to allow enforcers to actually enforce again, or call the damn penalty to make the offending player stop taking dangerous runs at people.
That's why you have to have your head up. In theory, that's an illegal play. In practice, it seems to happen to the Wild frequently.
His head WAS up! That's just a flat out cheap shot that no player should have to expect to be coming!
Hard to catch an elbow to the face if your head is down.
