Hirose with his best imitation of a young Chris Tanev. But my gawd that was one awful hockey game.

What's amazing is this Hawks team has only the third best odds for Connor Bedard. There are actually a couple of teams in the NHL that are worse?

Jonathan Toews is winding down his illustrious career. Those epic Haws-Canucks playoff series of 2009-11 seem like a century ago.

Snoozefest. Chicago burn it to the ground, and then some, efforts on full display in this one and yet the Canucks, without Demko, could well have lost!!!!

Good

Kuzmenko - at least provided some entertainment. Last guy that should be getting hassled by the coach.

Hirose - made the right play all night. Has a knack for making the quick move with his stick to get puck off people's stick or break up a rush. Passing was excellent and looked fine on the PP. No wasted effort and keeps himself free to be able to glide back to cover up for teammates or join the rush. Looks a very good pick up and played pretty heavy minutes in this game.. Question becomes can the team really go with Hughes and Hirose on the same defense.

Demko - on these kind of nights is the team's best player. However, his return has basically deep sixed any chance at a tank.

Not Good

Boeser - can he still be seen as goal scorer?? Gets pucks bouncing of his legs or other people's legs for goals but rarely now scores when he gets an open shot on a goalie. Transition play and defensive play is very sub par. Played a little better in the third but even then couldn't do anything with his chances.

Bear - thought he was our weakest dman and the included raw rookie McWard. Not getting to the puck quick enough to allow him to make plays coming out of his zone and not playing his blue line at all. Mostly just back in his crease trying to get pucks away from the front of the net. Hasn't played well since the facial injury. Part of that was the mask but even recently a couple of steps slow and playing mostly from his end boards.

Aman - looking worn out. Season has caught up with him. Increasingly getting banged around as he is not staying ahead of the play (which he has done at some points in the season) Finding out playing in the small rinks in NA not really the same as playing on the lake sized rinks of Sweden. Becoming a non-factor.

Others

McWard - some good signs. Anticipated play fairly well and most of the time was able to move the puck out of trouble.

Kravtsov - much better and more committed effort. Hit and took some hits to make a play. Crucial that the team is able to develop this player.
