So how will this game go?
Winnipeg, Colorado hit repeat.
Massive domination the first part of the game. Defence will pinch like crazy. Two man forecheck, (left/right side lock). Keep the puck away from Washington. Keep the momentum.
Players will carry the puck, keep possession and tilt the ice. Likely get a lead then STOP playing that way and try to shut down the rest of the game.
THEN
They will start dumping the puck out. Stop the hard forecheck. Single deep forechecker. Which will allow the Caps more possession that will result in Canucks sticks being put on Capitol players as they skate by giving the ref's something that they could call. Just because the Nux dumped the puck instead of a little bit of possession and change their team game to being safe.
If the play of the game does go this way then it does indicate that this is systemic, a system thing, a coach thing.
And every other team will know this as well so they can "plan" for it, rest and hold back some in the beginning then turn it on once the Canucks decide to "protect the lead" because that's what they have to do to win playoff games.
DeSmith needs more ice time, I didn't realize how small he looks/is. He may be the smallest goalie in the league.
Canucks should win. Myers will play.
The Canucks are in the playoffs
