Thrilled to acquire one of the very best goaltenders in the entire league locked up long-term. With the 1C/1D/1G spots locked up for the next ~decade the Sabres should be a threat to not only make the playoffs, but go on a serious run once they get there.

It's a high price to pay, but this is a team that needs to turn the corner and start winning this season. The fan base isn't ready for another rebuild and having a goalie like Gibson should ensure the team remains (at the very least) competitive night in and night out.
