Salary Cap

  • USE THE CAPGEEK ARCHIVE FOR ALL NUMBERS.
  • The salary cap maximum from the trade deadline to the entry draft is $69M.
  • There will be no salary cap minimum from the trade deadline to the entry draft.
  • Full cap hits will be moved in trades.
  • For salary retention, multiply a player's cap hit by .(%). ex. $5M w/ 25% retained = $5M x .25 = $1.25M.
  • An injured player that is expected to return by the actual NHL trade deadline may be used on your roster.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players at the trade deadline.
  • Teams may have as many players on their playoff roster as they wish.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2015-2016 season is $73M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2015-2016 season is $55M.
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.
  • Teams may sign their draft picks to contracts using the ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT CHART.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $900k of their cap hit.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the current NHL standings.
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and RR or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind that not all NTCs or NMCs will be waived.
  • The commissioners will provide an 8-team no-trade list for players with a "modified NTC/NMC" on capgeek upon request.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals must be significantly altered in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC will still be valid with their new team.

Priority is to find a taker for Vincent Lecavalier/Chris Pronger and to an extent Andrew MacDonald/RJ Umberger. Willing to retain salary or "sweeten" a deal where needed. Would be willing to package our 1st(a likely lottery pick) plus Lecavalier for a young, top 6 LW'er.

Braydon Coburn, Kimmo Timonen(UFA), Mark Streit, Nick Schultz(UFA), Nicklas Grossmann and Michael Del Zotto(UFA) are all available for teams looking for defensive help.

Will listen to offers for Jake Voracek but would have to a great offer for me to bite.

Biggest needs are a young, top 6 LW and a mobile, puckmoving defenseman.

I would say I'm close to deals on Phaneuf and Franson but am still listening. Still looking to move players like Lupul, Gardiner, Santorelli, Winnik and Bozak as well.

Kessel and JVR offers have been underwhelming. Specifically for Kessel, I don't want a package of alright pieces; I need a young player (probably 22 or younger) that I can build my team around as a part of any possible deal.

We are announcing the end of a (very terrible) era of Oilers hockey. Today, we have decided to let go of Kevin Lowe and Craig MacTavish. Replacing them will be new general manager Silas Robertson.

Also, we would like to thank Todd Nelson for his work and invite him to join the NHL staff of our new head coach Dan Bylsma. We feel that Dan will be the perfect coach to help us transition to a new era of Oilers hockey.

In other news, the TANK IS ON. All veterans are available. RNH and Hall are most likely not going anywhere. Everyone else is available for the right price. Let's talk trade!

Around. Shopping UFA's to be extra aggressively (Fleischmann, Upshall, Kopecky, B.Butler, Zanon, O'Brien, D.Ellis, probably more).

Also could move Huberdeau, Gudbranson, Hayes, Grimaldi, Olsen, Robak and Petrovic as part of an upgrade.

Don't ask about Barkov or Ekblad (Bjugstad is as close to untouchable without actually being untouchable).

The Kane trade makes us happy :naughty:

We are looking to buy, mostly top 6 forwards.

We're also looking to potentially upgrade in net.

- Remodel the Top-4 defensemen
- Tweak the bottom-6 forwards (player for player swaps?)
- Prospects: RHD, wingers, centers.

AVAILABLE:
- Don't ask about Johansen or the 1st.
- In an effort to remodel the blueline, I'll listen to offers on all defensemen, including Murray.
- I'm not eager to move Jenner, Dubinsky, or Bob. Everyone else I'm more open to.

What a mess! We're starting over. Looking for prospects, picks and young NHL'ers. Will consider moving anyone for the right deal.
