Dallas has traded Matt Niskanen and a 2nd round pick for Andy Mcdonald and a 4th round pick. Mcdonald will replace Richards' spot in the top 6. Although he are disappointed that Brad decided not to re-sign, we know that Mcdonald will do a fine job.

:blues confirm, and place Matt Niskanen on waivers.

We're pleased with our signing of Mark Stuart. We feel he is a very underrated defenseman and he'll fit in well with our blue line. We were in on the Wizniewski sweepstakes but the price got too high. We're going to be rolling with a young roster next season and expect some speed bumps, but we're excited about all the new faces in Calgary.

Berglund and Stalberg still on the block.

Senators Offseason Review

The Ottawa Senators capped off a forgettable 2010-2011 season on a high note, pleased with their work done in the offseason. The team underwent a pretty substantial re-tooling, but with the moves made the club now feels that they are ready to challenge for a playoff spot in the upcoming season.

It became pretty evident that the current core would not suffice for future success, so the club shipped out: Mike Fisher, Nick Foligno, Patrick Wiercioch, Filip Kuba, Milan Michalek, Jarkko Ruutu, Chris Campoli, Peter Regin, Matt Carkner, Brian Lee and Roman Wick. Brought in was a combined new nucleus of youth and experience, with Corey Perry, Jarret Stoll, T.J. Galiardi, Carter Ashton, Zenon Konopka, Jared Cowen, David Rundblad, Matt Greene, Davis Drewiske and Evgeni Nabokov all representing a culture change in Ottawa. Those additions, combined with a strong draft (Strome, Bartschi and Jensen) have given Senators faithful a renewed sense of hope.

I really don't see how Carter Ashton is NHL ready. He could really use a year in the AHL atleast.

With that cap space and Ottawa not being a intern cap situation, why don't you sign a Glencross type of player to round out that 3rd line?

Lets start #6 ASAP so I can finish off one more game before I leave for traveling.

Yes, I'm being selfish.

Also, HC, what was the point of that, really? You weren't even there.
