Washington: Feeling extremely strong with the additions of Sutter and Ellis we boast one of the stronger defence groups in the league now. Add that on top of the already stellar offence and I see us as a cup favourite.

Edmonton: We made a point to add two guys with long term cheap contracts in Couture and Spergeon to assemble a roster that can contend now and for the next five season.

Ottawa: Admittedly the roster still needs some work done, but moving towards contender. Adding Holtby, Zadorov, and Burakovski on top of an influx of youth we are a dark horse for a playoff spot. We decided to keep Byfeild and Drysdale in the AHL for an additional season, but expect to see those two plus Formenton and Norris on next years roster.

It's not too early to talk strategy in order to protect players you may be forced to expose in the upcoming expansion draft. At this point there are several teams that would be forced to expose players they likely won't be happy to lose for nothing and Seattle is around to discuss potential options.

Keep in mind all players with NMC that have contracts signed past the 2020/21 season must be protected and all players with over 2 years pro experience(played 10 or more NHL/AHL games in 2018/19) are eligible for the draft.
