KABERLE HEADING TO THE ISLANDERS
The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenseman Tomas Kaberle to the New York Islanders for defenseman Loic Leduc and NYI 2013 4th round pick.
With the emergence of Rafael Diaz, Kaberle was the odd man out in Montreal, especially with the salary cap going down next season. We wish him the best of luck in Long Island.
Islanders accept. We're gonna need a body on defence once we ship out some players, and Kaberle doesn't completely suck, at least not compared to the price it took to acquire him.
On a related note, the Islanders have the following players available...
Mark Streit: Only dealing if we can't sign him, can start sending offers though
Josh Bailey: Only in a deal for a more established top-six forward or top-four D
Lubomir Visnovsky: Ideally looking for a 2nd + a prospect
Evgeny Nabokov: Ideally looking for a 2nd + a prospect
Brad Boyes: Not sure, make an offer
Ty Wishart: Not sure, make an offer
Marty Reasoner: Mid pick or prospect
Eric Boulton: 7th round pick would do it
