:flyers UPDATE

While we are still considering all our options (including Giroux, Voracek and Simmonds in discussions), we might just wait for free agency to make another major move.

Our main focus right now is to trade L. Schenn and Del Zotto for futures (one asset for each and not multiple lesser assets). Of course, we are expecting a better return for Schenn.

Yikes! Don't like this at all from a Devils' perspective. Schneider and Severson are the two best assets in the deal...

It's definitely not a deal I would do from the Devil's perspective. That being said if going for a full blown rebuild, Goldobin does have quite a high ceiling if he can sort out his defensive deficiencies, and Nieto should be a consistent Top 9 winger from here on out. Not the best, not the worst return.

I do think Stalock would get lit up if he tried to fill the role Schneider is this year, but maybe another goalie will be brought in.

Looking to move Brown for a pick. Looking to move Joe Thornton and possibly Patrick Marleau to get younger; I'm expecting a young forward (similar to Gallagher/Jenner calibre) or a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft as the centre piece of the deal.

Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski, Blake Wheeler, Tomas Hertl, Marc-Edward Vlasic and Cory Schneider most likely won't be moved.

Team Needs: established bottom 6 players, forward prospects, draft picks, veteran back-up goalie

Schultz, Perron, Gordon, EDM 1st 2016 available.

Nikiton and Ference can be had for very cheap, or in a swap for another overpaid player.

:flyers DEL ZOTTO TRADED TO NEW JERSEY

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded defenseman Michael Del Zotto to the New Jersey Devils for New Jersey 2015 6th round pick.

Comments to come later (read : I wasn't going to send him a QO anyway, better get something for him).

confirmed. We are hoping that the coaching staff will get back to his days in New York. We are also going to make sure he doesn't party too much.

9th overall available for a top 6 winger, preferably 25 years old and younger. Willing to add other assets where needed.

Nick Holden available for cheap for someone looking for a capable 5/6 d-man signed long term,

Jamie McGinn, Cody McLeod and Jesse Winchester are all avaiable for teams looking for youngish, bottom 6 depth.

Bernier-- Will probably require either more money or more term.
Kadri-- Sounds about right
Panik + Kozun-- So Kozun looks like the better player, brings more to the table, and yet we sign one guy on a one way deal and the other on a two way deal. Doesn't make much sense. Personally, the Leafs will probably only keep 1 going forward. If Kozun comes back from injury how he looked before he got hurt, it will probably be him.

So I'll say, 2 years 750-850K/year
