Wow, McAvoy being real team friendly their imo.

I don’t think so. Makes him the 16th highest paid defenceman in the league coming off an ELC. Many of those years are RFA years and the contract takes him to 29 right in time to sign another big contract.

Seth Jones, Matt Dumba, Shea Theodore, and Rasmus Ristolainen all signed for less coming off their ELC, all with better offencive numbers.

:coyotes :isles have struck another deal:

To ARI -- Josh Bailey, Yannik Rathgeb
To NYI -- Christian Fischer, ARI 2019 1st (top-10 protected, otherwise 2020 1st), TOR 2019 4th

We feel we overpaid a bit but when you struggle scoring goals as we do you have to pay to get and in Bailey we've secured a consistent 50-plus-point forward. He's only 29 and signed to a reasonable contract through age 34. We also like Rathgeb. We need another RHD and think he has great potential to be at least a rock-solid bottom pair D in the league.

:coyotes are done until free agency. We're happy that we added some scoring in Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey, both of whom are signed for the next several years. While we don't expect their presence will move us up the standings this year, we're confident that with the addition of our 2018 1st round pick Barrett Hayton and the growth of youngsters like Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Jakob Chychrun, Vinnie Hinostroza, and Lawson Crouse we'll challenge for a 2019-20 playoff spot.

Our roster that will finish off the 2018-19 season:

Clayton Keller -- Derek Stepan -- Alex Galchenyuk
Brock Nelson -- Nick Schmaltz -- Josh Bailey
Michael Grabner -- Christian Dvorak -- Vinnie Hinostroza
Lawson Crouse -- Brad Richardson -- Nick Cousins
Josh Archibald

OEL -- Niklas Hjalmarsson
Alex Goligoski -- Jordan Oesterle
Jakob Chychrun -- Ilya Lyubushkin
Kevin Connauton

Anti Raanta
Darcy Kuemper

AHL Defenseman Yannick Rathgeb
NYI 2019 4th
TOR 2019 4th

OUT:
Richard Panik
Nick Merkley
Christian Fischer
2019 protected 1st (otherwise 2020 1st)
2019 3rd
2019 4th

Yeah I have to say there is no way Provorov would take 3.5... Sanheim I could see taking a cheap one year contract, but not 1M for two years.

Just call us "Finland West". The Carolina Hurricanes are very excited to announce that we have acquired two, young Finnish players we feel will be big pieces for our organization going forward.

To Nashville

Michael Ferland
Brian Elliott (50% retained)

To Carolina

Jusse Saros

We are very excited to add a young, talented goaltender in Jusse Saros to the organization. We feel Jusse is ready to take on a larger role after spending years being groomed behind Pekka Rinne. Jusse also has a team friendly contract the next two seasons which will allow us to find a solid veteran to partner with him.

To Toronto

Justin Faulk
Boston 2nd in 2019

To Carolina

Kasperi Kapanen
Martin Marincin

In Kasperi Kapanen we feel we have found a perfect compliment to Finnish stars Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen Those three combined will form an all Finish top line for us for hopefully many years to come. We are sad to see Justin Faulk go after many years of solid service but we feel we have some young defensemen in Roland McKeown, Haydyn Fleury and Jake Bean that are all ready for larger roles.

Provorov on pace for a 7 goal, 31 pt season.

Konecny on pace for a 24 goal, 51 point season.

Sanhiem on pace for a 0 goal, 20 point season

Laughton on pace for 20 goal, 31 point season.
Provorov is comparable to McAvoy who just got 6.5 that’s really my main problem the rest might be bad but not as bad as Provorov.

Only way Provorov would take $3.5M is if it was a 2 year deal. At 6 years, he's looking at $5.5M+. Seth Jones signed for 6 years, $5.4M coming off 25, 27 and 31 point seasons. Provorov already has 30 and 41 point seasons.

I understand being an agent is a lot of work though and it's easy to overlook some contracts.

Probably done makings moves until the draft but could move Victor Rask if there is interest in the middle 6 center that has pretty consistently put up 40+ points.

Standings Voting

Please fill out the Google Forms GM Game Standings Vote

The form will help us determine the final regular season standings. The top team on each list will receive the most points (starting with 7 or 8), with each following team receiving one less point than the previous (down to 1). I will then add up the point totals from all the standings I have received and come out with the final standings. Same rules as the NHL apply.

Please closely read the rules before voting. The number values do not represent placing, but rather points, as has always been the case with standings votes in these games. Teams finishing first in their respective division should receive the most points (7 or 8), while teams finishing last in the division should receive the least (1).

The form does not require a google sign in, anyone who clicks on the link can answer it. To eliminate potential "troll votes" or people submitting multiple votes - please be sure to answer the final question in the form, and PM me on here with your answer. Votes without corresponding PM's will not count.

Voting will end after 10 votes.

Provorov is 67th in scoring by Defensemen. He's 21, he has a lot to prove.
He scored 17 goals last year and has been a defensive stalwart on Philly's top pair. Jakob Chychrun just got 6x4.6 with a much shorter and less impressive resume. Noah Hanifin - a defender draft within a few picks of Provorov - just got more than the 4.9 having shown less. Provorov should be coming in near $6M on a 6 year deal.

Added two solid top 6 forwards to give us one of the better forward groups in the league to go along with solid defense and goaltending. Should be a team that makes some noise in the playoffs.
