I can understand why people are pissed about all that's happening to the Bruins, but the one thing I'll say is don't make it into a league hates the Bruins thing. Something needs to be done, but remember...up until a couple games ago, the Bruins were a very fortunate team injury wise (exception of Eriksson). Now, in a matter of two games it's all caught back up with them and it's hard to watch.

What I personally hope is that intent is seriously considered in these hearings. While I get the notion of "responsible based on the result", that shouldn't be nearly the whole story. You look at what Phaneuf did tonight (completely uncalled for an idiotic...not the first time that's been said about Phaneuf) and that should warrant a good three games and that's before finding out what Miller's injuries are. If he's out for awhile, he should get more but just based on the action and intent, give him games.

Compare that to Thornton. The result was terrible and Shawn certainly made some mistakes, but from all the fights I see every year, I' say maybe about 20% guys are throwing punches while on the ice and rarely does someone get knocked out that way (players should know how to protect themselves). Thornton very obviously had no intent to have what happened happen to Orpik and for that I think the calls for huge suspensions are not right.

What I'm saying is...injuries to your team sucks; having to see it frequently and worry about people's long term health while trying to enjoy a hockey game sucks. But let's really take the problem seriously and not make it a "my team gets screwed on everything" that has become so common on these boards amongst every fanbase. No need for the childish rhetoric if people are really concerned about getting rid of (or at least minimizing) the problem league wide.

btw, anybody have a problem with Jack going totally ballistically excited when the Bruins score a big goal and win a game? Is that okay?

He raises his voice when an exciting hockey play happens, and it goes through the roof when the Bruins score and win. That's how it should be. For my money, Jack and Brick are the best in the league. They actually bother to learn about the other team's situation and know something about them, which is more than 90% of the other team's broadcasters do, most of whom are totally lame.

This is why I like them... Listening to other broadcasts I question whether the other announcers even get paid for their complete lack of effort.

Love Jack & Brick. I understand why other fan bases don't like them, but honestly they aren't worse than maybe a handful of other markets when it comes to hometown glasses. Jack's not the most knowledgeable hockey guy, but he does his homework, and he loves the game. He's also plenty prone to make an enthusiastic call when the opposition does something spectacular.

Listen to Detroit's broadcast sometime, it's like a friggin morgue when the other team scores. And don't get me started on Errey and Steiger ... just another reason to despise that franchise.

Most NHLers will never forget their first goal. Kevan Miller will never remember it.

Did anyone else just see Carlyle speaking to the media???? Holy cow!

One reporter said he couldn't believe that there was no penalty on the slash to Clarkson. Then Randy talks about the headshot by Seidenberg. No mention of the boarding by Phaneuf. F-U media. What a joke.

Jack Edwards is my favorite. I'm pretty alone in feeling that way among Leafs fans though.

Claude said #Bruins will wait until tomorrow morning to decide on calling up defenseman, optimistic Boychuk could be available Tuesday.

Manchuk is such a beast

There's a lot of veteran d-men turning up the volume on their phone's right now.

Don't think Redden has a job.

Where's Arron Johnson? Shane Hnidy?

Honestly the defense is getting murdered and it's pretty much entirely from wear, tear and funky hits (Boychuk's was just weird and the one in Dougie was legal and very clean).

Miller however was pure cheap shot.

The fact that his name wasn't mentioned in the tweet as being evaluated in Toronto or heading back to Boston sounds like a good sign.

They should probably carry an extra D from Providence the rest of the trip though.

Listen to his call when Subban tied it late in game 7. Edwards calls a good game.

Carlyle can **** off right now. End of story.

On the plus side, I'm very impressed with what this team was able to do tonight. Coming off an exhausting game last night with a team that didn't even get much time to practice together with all these new faces and they did great. I did not expect them to do so well at all.
Injuries are gonna drive them crazy but they're making the best out of it so far. Pretty thankful for our depth right now. Dougie is a huge loss though, he's had such a great season so far.
