Murph talked to him during the first intermission, he lives in Calgary and he is getting back into farming.
Farming eh. Not what I imagine when I think of Raymond but fair play. If he does it right he can set his family up for generations. Good for him

So Canucks played the first period with passion, and the last 5 min of the game with passion, and somehow that was all it took. that was enough to blow the Sens out of the water.
The game would had been over if Miller put that puck in the net and made it 5-0 in the first period

Pretty awful game where we continue to keep the same system and rely on our goaltending

Haha I didn't even know Fantenberg is on our team.

More importantly...I didn't even know who this guy was.

Have to be miles better on Saturday. Sabres have more guys that can finish on scoring chances. You have three days to get them prepared green....if the team lays an egg again it’s clearly on the coach.

Positives: We converted on our chances and Demko had an excellent game.

Negatives: Got pretty soundly outworked by the Senators. Not a good look. Feels like the Canucks have not been the harder working team in a lot of their games recently.

Lucky the opponent was the Senators, instead of the Caps, Pens or Oilers.....Canucks outshot 42-27 in their own building, and needed at least six or seven 10-bell saves from Demko to keep the gap at three goals.

I have not idea what it is, but this team just bleeds high-end scoring chances. I guess you take the two points and move on. But wow, this was a sloppy effort.

They need two or three practices where they focus on nothing more than zone exits and defensive zone coverage. Don't see how Green can put much of a positive spin on this game.

Demko was good. Defence was so-so. 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines were okay. 1st line was dismal. Happy to have the two points.

To be fair, what Ottawa does is outworks teams.

Hate this offside challenge. I really dont give a damn if one skate is off the ice

The rule really needs to be changed so that a player has to entirely cross the plane of the blueline at least. It doesn't make a difference whether the trailing skate is on the ice or not and it's basically impossible to conclusively review in close cases anyway.

It's not a good look at all.

It's loosey goosey pond hockey.

It's loser hockey.

This team has shown a distinct inability to lock a game down and it's not like we don't have any checking forwards in our line up.....

So....

What's the deal?

Don't think you can be overly happy about that effort. Team was largely outplayed and only poor goaltending by Nilsson and brutal play out of DeMelo coupled with excellent game by Demko got us out of the at affair with the points. Canuck slot was open all game and there were sustained periods when they couldn't get near to getting the puck out of their zone. Hopefully the team can now get some rest and tighten up the defense. Some of the players had the their worst games in a while

Good

Demko - made a number of huge saves. At times it was Demko vs. the world

Bad

Defense in general. Ottawa got around them far too easily and front of net was often open. Even given the nice assist in the first this was Tanev worse game in awhile. Myers and Hughes also struggled. Stecher got better as the game went on but he really floundered at times and got bounced around. Benn might have been the best but he was far from solid.

Horvat - still struggling with skating. Lot of start and start hockey and over pivoting and losing his balance. Defensive coverage was poor at times - like on the first goal against. Maybe a little harsh but there was so little flow in his play.

Boeser - always seems to get some points but again sluggish and not able at all to get the puck out of his end. Looked just bagged on many of his shifts.

Others

Roussel - nice touch on his goal, good hustle on the rush and forecheck and decent at moving the puck. Pretty good given he is coming off injury. Seems like the knee procedure has not effected his speed which is big bonus for the team.

MacEwen - nice that he scored but obviously skating must improve. Seems to be getting better at positioning and working with line mates. Be interesting to see how he can play with an experienced center like Beagle.

Gaudette - Made some decent plays and again was dangerous at times. Type of player you want with the puck around the other teams net. However, not good in his end at all.

Fantenberg - skating isn't an issue as he easily gets around the ice. Might be helpful especially as he gets more use to team mates.

Pearson - sort of epitomized Canuck forwards. Started strong but tired and just tried to hang on to the lead.

Canucks are going to have sort out the defensive issues if they are to make the playoffs. Not just the defense but the forwards as well. Getting people like Sutter back will help but overall there must be more structure in their defensive game. The goalies can only do so much.
