So then, if they lined up a bunch of 12 year olds, told you that’s the tournament, you’d hold it in the same regard?
If that was the Olympic Tournament, then yes because that is literally the tournament taking place as part of the Olympics. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about it. It is not the "Tournament to decide the ultimate greatest hockey producing nation on the planet". It is the Olympic Men's Hockey Tournament.

Fine. For me, and plenty of others, there is a point where it loses its prestige, regardless of what you name it.

I don't think every tournament needs to be the determiner of the grand champion of everything, but yeah if it doesn't interest you then no need to watch.

Canadians as always will whine and bring up the lack of NHLers, but reality is, Sweden played a hell of game.

Congrats Sweden.
Well you certainly whine about Canada in the majority of your posts. Little inferiority complex eh!

Canada did not even send a good AHL team. Many washed up players.

its the same for every nation. everyone is picking players from euro leagues, ahl and ncaa.

but lets go trough canadas forwards:

desharnais and winnik is very good nla players

tambellini is a very good shl player

knight, weal, o dell is very good khl players.

cracknell and ho-sang is very good ahl players.

eric staal is eric staal.

johnson and mctavish is super talents.

ferraro and street is very good in DEL

Mcbain is a good player in NCAA

so this is "not even a good ahl team". what are you smocking? this team would dominate AHL. if you know anything about hockey you would know that DEL, NLA, SHL, KHL is not worse leagues than AHL.

cracknell and ho-sang is very good ahl players.

eric staal is eric staal
Adam Cracknell is 36 years old , 16 AHL seasons on the downside of his career
Ho Sang is 5th in scoring on his AHL team, average AHL player
Eric Staal is no longer NHler Eric Staal - not even close.
As I said not even a good AHL team.

Cry about it some more. You bring absolutely nothing to any discussion and completely embarrass yourself anytime someone confronts you with a differing opinion or tells you you're wrong.

All you do is whine about all things Western Civilization. Nobody cares.

The entire roster consists of people who were top player in the AHL before giving up on making the NHL and moving to better financial options

Well other leagues would never reject players going to Olympic games. Its same as if Usain Bolt was rejected to go to Olympics 100m sprint. Its a total f***ing joke, joke that some people have got used to because of NHL. Best Athletes of their sport being banned from going to Olympics, games which have been there for 3000 years: "Oh yeah olympics dont have prestige, look buttman didint participate"

The Olympics have prestige but they also are a corrupt greedy and manipulative organization that overlooks any injustice if it benefits themselves. They let Valieva skate when she should have been banned , in general let Russia compete despite repeated doping violations and let China hold the games ignoring human rights abuses. The IOC is the real joke here.

And Canadians got a gold medal in a non competitive sport, woman's hockey biggest farce in the Olympic Games by far.
