Physicality doesn't mean dick.

You need responsible two-way hockey players on BOTH sides of the puck, and right now we have a handful.

Up front you have liabilities like LeCavalier, Umberger, Rinaldo, and a handful of other guys that are average like Simmonds, Voracek, and Giroux.

On the backend you have Grossmann, Coburn, and Schenn. Then there's Andy MacDonald who has defied physics by providing negative dimensions.

We need more offense from the back-end, and we need more responsible forward up front.

Exactly. Physicality on its own for the sake of physicality does nothing to make the team a contender. Physicality as a trait of a team responsible all over the ice and with driving puck possession is a nice bonus though.

Also of note: Boston was 6th in terms of fewest minor penalties taken. They did a fine job avoiding penalties, I'd say. And when you have the 30th ranked PK, it's a REALLY good job to avoid taking penalties.

In my 29 years as a Flyers fan, I don't think I've ever been as disgusted in a player wearing the Flyers jersey than I am with Lecavalier. Probably even more than Bryz.
