Let’s bring this thread out of the depths of the archives for another Who Am I?

All players are either current or former Devils players:

1. I have played for four NHL teams.
2. My season high in assists was with the Devils, however I recorded my season high in points with another NHL team.
3. I played in only one Stanley Cup final, however my team has lost twice in the Stanley Cup final.
4. In the only trade I was involved in, the player going the other way shared bloodlines with a former Devils player.

That should be enough to figure that one out, if not I’ll add a final clue that will give it away.
The only guy I can think of is Jon Merrill.

Gordie Dwyer holds the record — if you can call it that — for most games played as a forward without scoring a goal with 108 games played, which former Devils players are second and tied for tenth ?

Stephen Gionta is probably one. Or felt like one. Zharkov? Sharkie probably doesn’t have enough games though.

Actually, one has to be Cam Jansen because he played a ludicrous number of games for the Blues. So him and Stephen Gionta. (Unless it’s just a former thing and I’m missing something obvious.) We’ve had a number of pointless random logs of wood though, so it’s hard to guess who never scored for someone else.

This man is a European heart throb who is unjustly persecuted by his own fans who with hesitation rip him at any given chance. His sweater is equivalent to 40-3 and he doesn't suck contrary to some people's belief.

Oh dear god, it can’t be poor Scott Gomez somehow. That would be nuts.

Nope it’s a forward not a defender. I believe he ended up scoring at some point late into his career though.
Isn’t it f***ing Tim Sestito? Who always managed to be a viagra for all of Jacques Lemaire, Pete DeBoer and Stevens/Oates.

Nope they both scored goals in their NHL careers. These are both forwards who did not score a single goal during their time in the NHL.
Brian O’Neil? I remembered him from 2015-16.

Well sort of, he “was the extra useless guy we randomly got from the Kings” for conditional 2017 7th rounder they didn’t get. I did have to look him up. We drafted Jocktan Chainey with that pick and he quit hockey after the 2018-19 season which fit the theme.

He only played 22 games for us and then went away so that’s probably not enough and it’s some pugs. But damn 2015-16 has a hilarious amount of random forwards and O’Neil was a classic one.

He started on a line with Jordin Tootoo and Josefson (poor Jajo) and ended up on a Bobby Farnham/Stephen Gionta line that was no doubt magical. (Some Sergei Kalinen and Tyler Kennedy was sprinkled in his 5v5 ice time for offensive fire power. Sweet.)

Edit: Apparently O’Neil is killing it for Jokerit in the KHL and was dubbed “Mr Helsinki” (by someone) according to Wikipedia.

PL3 seems obvious though.

Yup he ended up playing 101 games without having scored a single goal. Part of me kind of wanted him to play more games just to break that record.

Tim Sestito never actually scored? Lol I assumed he potted one. Poor guy.

His brother was a major scorer, with 21 points (10 goals!) in 154 games over his 9 year NHL career. I didn’t know he had a brother until I checked his stats but Tom was drafted in the 3rd round in 2006 by Columbus. (Tim was an undrafted minor leaguer.)

Hello Devils Fans, I am the man that caused John MacLean's ACL to be torn by landing on him in a scuffle during a pre-season game, this injury caused Johnny to miss that entire season. I would later become an important person in the Devils organization, who am I ????

Well since no one answered, I’ll guess. (I don’t think Recchi qualifies as important so…).
