Who AM I

In another era, I was considered a hearthrob in a rival market. Men wanted to be me, Women, with me. I even had a bit part in a movie. Once traded from the rival market my career was never the same.

I played on eight different franchises.

I represented my country in sports, but not in hockey.

AS a proud Jersey resident, I say no. But reality is, they play in the NYC market.

Another Clue:

My career ended when I put family first.

Let's see if the boring off-season actually generates some interest in these:

Who Am I? (Ex-Devil player)

1. I played on 5 NHL teams.
2. At one point in my career, I played on four teams in just two seasons.
3. I played in the playoffs two times each on a different NHL team, the first time my team lost in four games.
4. My time with the Devils was my second shortest of all the teams I played for (in games played).
5. I spent my last season playing in a league that one of the rumored Devils coaching candidates coached in.
6. I am a cup champion but not in the NHL.

A lot of clues. Should be relatively easy. See if you can figure it out before looking it up with your reasoning for each clue.

Starred in Youngblood in a bit role.
Represented Canada playing Soccer.
Left to take hockey to take care of niece with rare disorder.

The fifth clue is no longer true now....

Not only was I a Stanley Cup winning goalie in my very long NHL career, I also played an even more famous Gold Medal winning goalie in a major Hollywood movie.

1). Who am I?
2). Who did I play?

Some people just quietly retire from the forums.

It seems to be happening more often over the last couple of years with how poor the team has been.

Our board is still frequented more than quite a few other more successful teams.

I knew the part because I recall reading about it, but I just couldn't remember the name of the player.

Let’s do it.

I’m really bored, it’s just been a terrible year for me (not because of Covid) and I’d love to post here more, but there’s nothing really to talk about. I meant to bump this thread last week. I’m gonna do some kind of tricky trivia questions. I’ve already got a few picked out. Some of them are hard, but will require a bit of effort to look up. This is a game I play with some friends through texting during the day when we’re bored.

I don’t expect anyone to know this one or a lot of mine (I sure wouldn’t either) on their own, so you’ll have to look it up somehow.

How many shutouts did Martin Brodeur have at the Meadowlands?

Let’s bring this thread out of the depths of the archives for another Who Am I?

All players are either current or former Devils players:

1. I have played for four NHL teams.
2. My season high in assists was with the Devils, however I recorded my season high in points with another NHL team.
3. I played in only one Stanley Cup final, however my team has lost twice in the Stanley Cup final.
4. In the only trade I was involved in, the player going the other way shared bloodlines with a former Devils player.

That should be enough to figure that one out, if not I’ll add a final clue that will give it away.
