I don't think all that particularly high of POJ at this point but I find it absolutely bizarre that people on here act like he's nothing while Friedman is some notable loss. Although this place worshipped Riikola as well and he's basically the same player as Friedman, so I shouldn't be surprised.

All of these defensemen (meaning Friedman, Shea, Ruhwedel, POJ, Smith and such) are all basically the same: depth defensemen who shouldn't be playing more than bottom pair minutes.
Yeah we have quite a few bottom pairing capable guys and they aren't that hard to find via trade or FA.

My only ask on POJ is that if we intend to let him go, we try to get value coming back from him. Hopefully a Pettersson for Sprong-like swap and not a POJ for a 5th dumping. I honestly can't remember the last time we send someone out for anything of value that wasn't a 1:1 swap or close to it.

I agree with your post save for POJ. And that comment is more based on last year when I thought his balls really dropped.

This year...woof. I'm not sure if Rutta was a really good partner for him but POJ has regressed considerably.

I think POJ's just had extreme ups and downs. For every game that he's playing really well and/or producing, there's a game where he's a trainwreck defensively and doing nothing for the transition game.

Had really hoped he turned a corner last season and we'd see the good a lot more frequently than the bad, but eh.

I don't know how White is doing but a RH center for the 4th line benching Carter and moving Acciari to RW which is his best position on the 3rd line is my move. POJ moved along with Ruhwedel to WB for cap space and add a veteran RD may be the plan if to play a healthy MP at 3rd pairing RD.

Anaheim on a heater right now, winner of 6 straight including a victory on Sunday against the best team in the league in Vegas... so why are we an almost -200 favorite on sportsbooks?
Because of:

1. Last years record.
2. Because Sid.

+EV bet (Ducks to win), but if you do place the bet the pens will win. That’s how sportsbetting works.

Fixing the bottom 6 is easy, just go with this lineup

O’Connor-Eller-Zohorna
Nieto-Acciari-Hinostroza
Guentzel-Crosby-Rust
Smith-Malkin-Rakell
"You can't have $16.1mil on the 4th line!" "You can't have $16.1mil on the 4th line!" "You can't have $16.1mil on the 4th line!" "You can't have $16.1mil on the 4th line!" "You can't have $16.1mil on the 4th line!"
