tic toc for the Bruins game http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400563799

Tic toc for the Sabres game http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400563877

I will add info from the other two games--first post when done late on today will be a whopper
game 1 (which as pointed out to me could be the catalyst) Sens puck drops at 1030am Edmonton time vs the flyers--A sens wins puts a lot of pressure on Boston (sens win 3-1 and make the playoffs) and the pens--a sens lose could help motivate both teams to go all out
game 2 Buffalo home to the Pens 530pm puck drops TV CITY,ROOT,MSG-B
http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm?date=01/02/2015&season=20142015&type=LEA--Pens were 5th in the league when they traded for Perron--one reason why they did not "protect" the pick was because "What, us miss the playoffs"? they were 23-9-5 at the time of the trade--since then they went 19-18-7 since
Game 3 Tampa Bay home to Boston 530pm puck drops TV NBCSN,SN1,NESN
Game 4 Nucks home to the OIlers 8pm puck drops TV CBC

If Boston can beat Tampa and if the Sabers can somehow find a way to win... god damn that would be amazing.

Even if the Pens make the playoffs, what are they going to do? Their D core is decimated. They will be up against the top eastern teams. It looks like Malkin is playing injured. If the stars align and they miss the playoffs the pick is 14th overall. If they make the playoffs it's 15-17th overall.

I know everyone loves joking around that we could win McDavid with that pick, but that's like 1% chance.

But there is a chance...And it would be the funniest thing to happen in the NHL in the history of things to happen. Imagine if we ended up with both McDavid and Hanafin? I don't think even Kevin Lowe could **** that up

My biggest hope for tomorrow is that the Senators clinch a playoff spot.

I don't have anything against the Penguins, and I don't particularly like the Bruins, but it would sure be awesome for our draft if the Penguins missed the playoffs, so I guess I'm kind of pulling for that.

Must lose game in my book

Being able to spend all summer mocking Mactavish for building a team statistically worse than any of Tambo's teams is my Stanley Cup win.

How many points does Schultz need to his next bonus? Expect a big game from him and all the other late season bonus chasers.

Schultz is no longer on his ELC. There are no bonuses in his contract. If you're going to rip a player, at least have a real reason. There's plenty for Schultz.

Ahhhh. You're right.

Ok. I expect Schultz to play a lot of minutes and make a lot of pinches and be completely overworked. Damnit.

Don't forget the battle for the green jacket on Master's weekend here.

It's down to the final round and Tiger Yakupov and Phil Kessel are tied stroke for stroke at -35... one back on the leaderboad is Tyler Bozak at -34 followed by James van Riemsdyk at -33.

It's going to be a nailbiter down the back nine to see who can prevail. I have faith that Nail can nail this down and capture his 1st green jacket after finishing fourth last year with a -33.

Is anyone else disappointed that we sent Broissoit down? I found he was the most entertaining part of yesterday's game.

Hope Yakupov ends with another goal. Nothing I like more than watching that quick, hard release. If only Yak had better hockey sense away from the puck- he seems to drift in a crowd watching his teammate wheel with the puck. He should spend the entire summer watching Ovechkin slide into quiet spots. Heck, even old video of Brett Hull who would settle into a soft zone and then release it.

Almost time to welcome Hanifin to the Copper and Blue!

We had no choice to send him down. He was an emergency call-up and Fasth is healthy.

My guess is Fasth. I hope so anyways.

Why do you hope Fasth? Just curious.

My bet is Scrivens. Signed for next year, the de-facto #1 goalie in the system. Give him the honor of playing the last game. Need to keep him in the fold.

I'm tired of watching Scrivens perform. He goes down far too soon trying to anticipate the shot/deke, and his awkward rebound control were he lunges forward is getting old. I'd argue he's only the de-facto #1 because Fasth got injured.

Maybe I'm being too hard on him. Tough to judge a goalie with our current defense. I'd rather start next season with a legit starter though.

Games starting very early today. Anyway, thank god the ridiculous season is over today. Gentlemen, let's not do this again next year.

Season hasn't even started yet. This has all been draft lottery pre-season.
