Can't wait to watch the slow forwards try to skate tonight.
Zubrus is my favorite.

I'll change my avatar to Pete and say nice things about him until next game, if Zubrus registers a point tonight.

I doubt he will though. It will be 1 point in 8 games. I really was afraid he would suck if we brought him back a couple years ago. It's no big deal, as long as he isn't forced to play in the top 9 or god forbid top 6. There's better players than him, that have been buried on the 4th line this season and even scratched.

I wouldn't be surprised if Clemmensen was in.

He played Clemmensen over Vokoun in non back to backs a couple times in Florida.

My gut tells me Cory will be in though.

It makes sense, being they held him out of practice that day. It would seem they planned to play him both games all along.

I have a feeling they will win tonight and everyone will do a 180 and think they are a contender again.

I think people will be like "yeah we played a good game man. 41 shots on goal and we dominated!" Despite the fact that we outshoot Ottawa by a wide margin EVERY game we play them and still lose.

That would be the other option. One way or another I think people will come out of this game thinking the team isn't in nearly as bad a shape as they do now.

I won't be fooled though, regardless of the outcome

At least when this team gets down the players have no quit. Sadly cannot say the same about a lot of the fans of this team. Reading this board I feel like I'm reading some kind of weird mix of a eulogy and a hissy fit :shakehead

Go Devils!

"It's a tough building"

"I thought we competed hard, we just had some unfortunate bounces"

"The PK looked good for the most part but we need a kill there on that 2nd goal"

"We got some solid goaltending tonight, we just couldn't find a way to put the puck in the net"

"We'll learn what we can from this one and move on to the next game"

Nice! You forgot a couple though.

"Any time you face a hot goalie like Robin Lehner, it's a tough battle. We had what was it? 41, 42 shots? And he stopped all but one. Give him credit."

"I felt we didn't get rewarded tonight for some of our hard work. We had 40 shots on net, so I'm happy with the compete level".

The only place Pete's job is on the line is HF Boards.

We are a puck possession team who lacks puck possession. People are dreaming if they think this team is going to have a 11.1 Shooting %.

The roster is good enough to be a playoff team. Lou isn't going to allow Pete to miss the playoffs again this year. No more excuses (Parise leaving, Kovy hurt, Kovy leaving,...).

We look very bad with whatever structure Pete is trying to implement.

I really hope we don't have to wait until spring to drop weight and pickup assets.

Agree 100%, If we wait until the TDL, we would have to way out of contention for Lou to start dumping a few guys. He's never done a firesale desite movving out Langenbrunner and Arnott, two guys who wanted to be moved.

If Lou can see that the emergence of some guys make others expendable and we can pick up assets earlier without compromising the team, that's when he should be making moves.

I'd argue that the emergence of Severson and the offense he brings, can make Zidlicky expendable, although Zids has a no trade. Me thinks you start holding him more accountable for his mistakes and if that means benching him, so be it. If he doesn't like it, he'll be more open to a trade. he has it cushy here now. If Brunner keeps it up, I think that could make Ryder expendable. Ryders a UFA to be and teams are always looking to add scoring, especially those on an expiring contract. With depth in Albany in Boucher and Brunner showing a lot of speed and creativity, we can certainly afford to move him for a prospect or more likely, a pick. This is managing the assets and getting something out of UFAs that you don't need and probably won't resign anyway.

New Jersey(No Fanz!)
hey...no negativity today...I'm not gonna tolerate it from you or anybody.. see

I guess I should I go to my room then... :sarcasm:

Look, I don't want to be negative but this team(the coach in particular) makes it so damn hard not to be.

Whatever, though. I'll try to put on the Devils-Colored Glasses and pick up the pom-poms tonight....

Tough tough spot for the Devils tonight. Honestly won't utter a cross word if they lose, even if it's another shootout loss. Ottawa will be playing with game 7 SCF emotion.

Agreed. The Devils are going to be the real "bad guys" here tonight.

That said, I still want a win.
