Man Thrun is getting bullied every game. I assume they still qualify him but he doesn't have a singe NHL quality ability really.

On another note, Kostin still a beast as expected.

I haven't seen an NHL player in Thrun this entire season. Maybe he turns into one, but the way this year has gone, I think he's a tweener.

Of course plenty of players do actually develop, but more of them bust.

I'd have to say, this has been a very relaxing season for me. It felt good every time opponents scored and there are plenty this season. Looking forward to another couple years of this then we get serious once our prospects pool matured.

Pure talent? Nerp. Jumbo is number one with a bullet and it's not even close. Karlsson, Burns, and Marleau are probably 2-4 in some order based on exactly how you're defining it (Karlsson's Norris season might be the best singular peak. Burns probably had the longest running peak period, Marleau's longevity is a skill aspect in itself)

But this is also a bit of a fuzzy question because it depends on how you define talent. There are probably lots of guys who have been around the team with incredible amounts of talent who underperformed relative to what they could have in a perfect world. There are probably lots of names that could be put up near the top that I wouldn't be angry about seeing there.

I certainly hope that Celebrini will turn out better than Marleau. I know Marleau is a fans' favorite but he was never a very dominant player and carried the team on his back night in and night out.

I certainly hope that Celebrini will turn out better than Marleau. I know Marleau is a fans' favorite but he was never a very dominant player and carried the team on his back night in and night out.

I don't know if Celebrini is supposed to be that either. I've seen scouting reports suggest his impact could be Toews-esque, which would be playing at a consistently high ceiling of broad impact but maybe not super-elite game-breaker talent.

Magic number is 15 with CHI's win. 7 losses by us or wins by them, + 1 OTL by us/them clinches it. What a long and painful journey.

Bonus (for me): PIT won and CGY lost. I don't want PIT to get a Celebrini surprise and great if they have to give us the pick at 11. Right now Moneypuck still has them projected to finish 8th worst, but they're within a half point of CGY, BUF, SEA, so that group's race is down to the wire. We are now projected 24% chance to get 1OA which basically implies an 85-90% chance of worst and the rest 2nd worst. Nearly locked it up now.
