After watching the game last night's game, I think Duchene has been our best forward for a little bit. He seems to be protecting and controlling the puck a lot better lately which has resulted in plenty of chances for Iggy and Grigs. Mack and Boeker looked fantastic together, they were buzzing all night long. Landeskog has been been playing solid hockey lately too.

I'm hoping Zadorov gets called up if Bigras is out long enough, but im seriously praying he isnt..

It would be kind of cool seeing a Gelinas - Zadorov pairing given they're both giants.

The defensive meltdowns though...

After the Gelinas trade I think we won't see Zadorov up under any circumstances. As much as I'd love him to get some NHL games down the stretch to help eval him for next year, Roykic clearly doesn't want to take any risks with his development by putting him in huge must-win games up here. Too bad, but that's just the way it is.

I have my doubts we'll see Zadorov again this year, unless a top 4 guy goes down, but San Antonio is a bit of a disaster right now. They managed to give up 8 goals in their two games this weekend, and Zadorov wasn't on the ice for any of them. It's bad.

Where does Zads stand with regard to still being waiver eligible? He must be getting close right? He has 83 games in the NHL. This might have an impact on the Avs' decision on bringing him up. Not sure of the rule.

Zads doesn't replace what Bigras brings anyway. I want Zadorov up more than anyone but that won't happen at the loss of Bigras. Barrie would probably be the only person who could get hurt and they would call Zads up.

I didn't read through this entire thread but did anybody else think last night was the best Nathan Mackinnon has ever looked? Like ever.

He was moving that's for sure but I can't say that because he still can't finish. At some point looking good has to become doing good so I can't say I was all that impressed.

160 games so nothing to worry about. Roy has his new project in Gelinas anyway. I don't expect to see Zadorov either. If SA remains non competitive then I think he's just rotting away and not developing (Rantanen too).

Without Varlamov (elite level goaltending) there's zero chance of us making the playoffs. Pickard is great but I have far more confidence in the guy that's done it before in the NHL for a season and long stretches opposed to the guy who's looked great here and there.

I wasn't addressing the playoffs, but merely gaining back confidence in Varly.

If you don't think either Picks or Berra could have won last night, then you saw a much more dangerous Yotes team than I did. An inept offensive opponent who had lost something like 7 of their last 8 isn't exactly a strong test.

DVR'd the game and watched it because it was a win. :sarcasm:

Didn't watch too much of the first half of the game, but watched the 2nd half. Boedker, even though putting zero points looked like one of the most dangerous players on the ice. I will also echo the comments that had to be MacKinnon's best game in a very long time.

That also had to be Soderberg's best game in a month. I know people hate Redmond, but it was more nice to see him out there than the ice cream with hot fudge in the #41 jersey out there. Good bounce back game from Varlamov, but the real test is tomorrow.

But again, Barrie is trying to piss me off. 3-1 and goes on one of those mega dumb rushes by himself just to get caught on the counter. I love the dude, but he seriously needs to learn. I hope Roy isn't letting him to go out there do whatever he wants, because those rushes are just so ****in' dumb when you have the lead.

To be fair to Bodnarsuck, that was Redmond's best game of the season. If he played like that consistently he'd be a passable part bottom pairing guy.

Patrick Roy is in love with Boedker lol

I am too. I love his speed and the way he attacks the net. Hopefully that doesn't go away down the stretch. We need more guys playing that way.

I hope they can find a way to sign him to a Soderberg type deal. Maybe an extra year or something. Hopefully they take a swing with him before trying to get Rads. It's already somewhat apparent he's a fit on the roster.

I would be over the moon if we can get him to a Soda deal.

Boeds fits with our core age much better than Rads. Everytime he has the puck he looks dangerous and PP specialist which our team needs.
