I don't know what you're watching, I like what I'm seeing. Work ethic, compete, buy-in, it's all there. Happy with where we are, in fact I wish we had even fewer responsible veterans.

You would expect a 23 year old college guy to be more developed than guys like Mintyukov or Zellweger. Don’t think that’s been the case.

He was the more developed rookie d-man in the rookie tourney and training camp by far.

The org has sacrificed LaCombe to shelter Minty, Vaak, and Gudas. With Gudas, it about not making Gudas play top pairing minutes, which we have recently discovered make Gudas not as effective. And the org has constantly moved LaCombe from RD to LD and vice versa.

When LaCombe actually played PP1 QB, he produced well (2 assists in his only game as PP1 QB) in your traditional, blueline PP1 QB. Also, LaCombe is 3rd on the team in blocked shots. He's ahead in that dept against the other rookies.

After Lyubushkin got traded, Minty gets to pair with Gudas. Everyone who gets paired with Gudas looks better. LaCombe play is better with Gudas too, but LaCombe isn't the priority because he was always the sacrificial rookie being older with some talent.

Now, with Zell being notified he's staying up with the NHL club, I find it confusing that LaCombe isn't sent down to the AHL so he isn't wondering when he's playing next and if he's playing LD or RD for that game. He could use that breather and let us know what he can bring to San Diego, since they lost Zellweger.

It's very odd how the org isn't giving LaCombe to playing top-4 minutes in San Diego than making him part of a 3rd pairing rotation.
