The Coyotes head to Staples Center (Crypto.com Arena if I have to be correct) tonight to take on the LA Kings in the first of three matchups between the two teams this season.
The big question for tonight: where will the offense come from? Through 5 games, the Coyotes have been held to just 12 goals but hold a 3-2-0 record thanks to the stellar play of Karel Vejmelka and Connor Ingram.
Who's Hot:
Clayton Keller (3+3) and Nick Schmaltz (2+4) are tied for the team lead in points, both picking up where the left off last season. The powerplay has been a bright spot so far, converting at a 29.2% clip, good enough for 7th in the entire NHL, however, one of the Cotyotes best weapons on the PP has been placed on the IR after Jason Zucker went down last game.
Who's Not......
Coyotes vs Kings series notes:
All time, the Coyotes/Winnipeg 1.0 hold a 122-105-25 record versus the Kings with a 56-54-14 record on the road. In their last 10 road games versus the Kings, the Coyotes hold a 6-2-2 record.
Projected Lineups and Starting goalies (will update when posted):
Keller - Hayton - Schmaltz
Crouse - Cooley - Maccelli
Jenik - Bjugstad - Kerfoot
O'Brien - McBain - Boyd
Moser - Durzi
Valimaki - Dumba
