Shea Weber just stepped on ice at the #Preds morning skate.

We will see if he is ready to go tonight!! We could sure use him to match up against Jagr.

** Edit after morning skate.

Weber skated this morning and barring a setback he will be good to go for #Preds tonight

Hopefully Weber can play but the fact that he was skating at morning skate is a good sign that it is a minor injury. We have to have him back for the Blues game tomorrow more then the devils tonight. We might be able to win without Weber against the devils but no way against the Blues.

Just saw this

John Manasso @jmanasso said:
Forgot this amid Weber news: Gaustad is playing thru an injury that keeps him from taking too many face offs, Trotz said. #preds

John Manasso @jmanasso said:
That's why Gaustad is on right wing. Trotz said he's comfortable w/Sissons in middle. Said he came from a good program (Kelowna). #preds

Interesting stat of the day for our Nashville Predators. They are the only team in the NHL to not allow a short handed goal against all season. I wonder if they can keep that up for the rest of the year.

There are also only two teams that have only allowed one all season long. The devils are one of those teams.

He does more than just win face offs. 4th on the team in ES goals, 2nd in PK TOI/g, on top of leading the team in FO%.

So you are saying that an injured, playing out of position Gaustad is better than say bringing up FF, Moser or Salomaki? Leave Wilson a C and bring up one of these young guns to play for a few games (till the Oly break) and let Goose heal up or get traded, whichever occurs first.

Yeah but is he doing all of that while injured though? I mean if he's healthy I get it, but I just doubt he's all that effective if he's injured ( might explain some of the bad penalties he's take lately as well)

FF isn't going to play on the kill nor has he shown anything at even strength during his 17 NHL games. That leaves two options with zero NHL experience, neither of whom is a 3rd/4th line physical player who fills the same role.

More trying to fit the large square peg into the small round hole.

His one game with two bad penalties? His three minors for the month? Two assists in the past three games .... on the bottom lines.

The injury is apparently hindering him at the dot ... that's it. He was able to fill his role Tuesday with 2:30 shorthanded, 50% at the dot in limited draws, and the primary assist on Spaling's goal.
