Caufields contribution is to put pucks in the net, not to keep them out. He's there to learn to play defense.

Agree no one will confuse Phil for the second coming of 99 or 66. That said he (Danault) was good enough last year that one of his wingers led team in points and the two tied for team lead in goals. playing with Phil is a great opportunity for CC
It's like Forest Gump is coaching this group.................tonight, two of our very best shoot first guys, are with a 3rd line checking centre, who struggles to make a good pass when rushed.....I just can't sometimes......It's just so stupid to play a good shooter with Phil Danault, why not play Armia with PD and allow CC to build some chemistry with Suzuki, probably the only center that can get him the puck for a scoring chance. Phil will dump it and both he and Mr Anderson will chase it down and CC can just hang out, he won't get a pass from either one of them.
Save that voodoo for the playoffs. It worked in the last GDT against the Leafs, so lets do it again!!
It's not a good fit for Caufield and now that we have said this, watch Phil set him up like he was McDavid in tonight's game lol. It's like Forest Gump is coaching this group.................tonight, two of our very best shoot first guys, are with a 3rd line checking centre, who struggles to make a good pass when rushed.....I just can't sometimes......
Boys and Girls.
Do I watch this game or Wilson getting destroy ? I don't know what to watch tonight.
any injuries back tonight? Lets hope not

I laughed.
But in reality, I would take Tatar and Gallagher back in a second. For the rest...I would tell them to take their time....
What? he had 47 even strength points in 68 games last year vs 50 in 80 games the year before. Even strength production per game was up.Tatar's uptick in points last year came from the power player, not 5v5. He had 8 pts in 80 games the year before, then 14 in 68 games last year.
CC would be out, though.

Why CC is playing with Danault, in a nutshell:
... that, and (hopefully) more TOI.

Is any of Byron, Tatar, Drouin or Gally comes back... CC has to be left out. He was a n emergency re-call.

I think it does all expire when da playoff start!! AHL guys can come up too....well this sucks. Success is a double edged sword when you're high paid managemet team is incapable of cap / recall strategies.
Does this all expire when the playoffs start?
...so Danault is pointing to all the areas where he won't be able to make a pass to Caufield??...

"So see this red line here? Yeah you dump the puck as soon as you cross it. Then run after the puck. It's a strategy called "Dump and Chase", you don't need to overthink the game it's awesome"
