DEVILS ALL THE WAY*

Guest
When was the last time we won in Boston?

Please scratch Cam, I'd rather see Barch, lesser of the two bad options.

As bas as this might sound... I think Janssen is the better player.

(I just threw up a little in my mouth)

#NJDevils have recalled RW Matt Anderson from @AlbanyDevils (#AHL). Anderson has 7g-13a-20pts, +8, 1PPG, 1SHG in 39 games this season.

Can we ever call up someone that we expect?

I think with the announcement of Anderson, it's a clear indictment of Butler's performance during the training camp.

News: Butler will, in all likelihood, be called up from Albany (AHL) on Tuesday, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports. (Mon Jan 28)

Spin: Butler has been the team's leading scorer in the AHL and played in Monday's AHL All-Star Game in Providence. The Devils are in need of a boost in terms of generating offensive chances and they feel Butler can provide that spark. Look for Butler to see some top six minutes, as the Devils are trying to find a third forward for their top duo of Travis Zajac and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Hmm, no Butler and possibly no Larsson. Not too thrilled about that. This will be a tough game to win but I have faith in our troops.

Wow. So this is where we're at...

I'll pull for the guy like any other that dons our sweater, but this is the definition of a journeyman and an indictment of our, already understood to be poor, forward depth.

I know Lou sees it too, but I feel like the waiting for a deal is going to wreak havoc on my nerves.

Meh, if no Larsson tonight it wouldn't be the worst game to sit out... Bruins forwards can be punishing in the corners. 155 hits in 5 games and lead the league in hits at home; I don't want to see Lucic take him out with a headshot because he turns blindly chasing a dumped puck being rusty.

Devils 69 hits in 4 games.

Butler is getting hyped cause he went on a hot streak in the AHL. There's no way he'll duplicate his exploits by being put on a line with Cam ****ing Janssen. Seriously, wtf is Cam ****ing Janssen doing in our lineup, he's bordeline ECHL material and... Why the **** did Lou sign Barch, ON A TWO YEAR DEAL ?!?!?

I despise having goons in our lineup who can't contribute. Both players are horrible skaters and are straight up stealing from JVB cause they're getting paid to skate around, hit the glass with a devestating bodycheck and that's about it.

Preaching to the choir man.

Anderson, from what I've heard and some highlights I've seen, has been quite solid in Albany since we got him. Nothing flashy but has the skill and worth ethic to get the job done. It's possible they want to see how he looks as a complimentary player on one of the top lines, which makes sense since the alternative is putting Clarkson or Zubrus as the top line right wing. Which in my opinion isn't a bad thing, but it goes into the whole "eggs in one basket" situation.
Right now we need a safe, solid choice, not a gamble like Butler might (currently) be.

At any rate, welcome Anderson!
