Loving the optimism, but I don't see how anyone could have watched last game post Vats injury and still think they have a shot today...

Especially with Sevs having to take on extended minutes.

All year long we've picked it up when we've had to. We have not played our best hockey yet in this series, we've been tight and a bit awed by the occasion and they have taken it to us. I expect that to change today. This will be our best game of the series so far and I expect us to win today.

The first ten minutes are important for us to play steady and calm. We were awful at the start of the last game, throwing away the puck and dazzled by their pressure. Handle it calmly today. Hurry slowly. We have more time than we think. Stay in your lanes.

I'd say it's almost undoubtedly a MSG decision; if I recall correctly all the TV crew have MSG, not Devils, contracts, so it'd probably be up to the network if they want to run something before or after the game.

It's more than obnoxious, of course; during the 2015 MLB playoffs there was always a Mets pregame/postgame on SNY, even though the games were all obviously on national broadcast. No reason to shortchange MSG+'s flagship team that way, it doesn't help the team or the network.
