Basically everyone in the hockey world had the group after Eichel in some order of Strome/Marner/Hanifin. I don't think taking Barzal at 3 was ever on the table.

Barzal was talked about around here a decent amount if we finished in the bottom half of the top 10.

That’s fair. Barzal was injured in his draft year and had a reputation as a pass only guy. Lots of teams passed on him. And those players are fine.

Ok, so Chych is a second pairing D, has injury history and you expect to get fair value for him in a trade. What do you consider FAIR value? Remember now, you said he is second pairing, and has a injury history.

His 19 goals last year, low salary next few years and top pairing upside improve his return. His injury history hurts the return too. So, i think it will be a late 1st, solid prospect, and parts to even out salary. The prospect won't be a stud or potential with high potential to be a 1C. What i am saying is we won't get an Eichel level return.

The way it sounds we will know very soon. I would not pay it but I think we get closer to an Eichel return than what you think. In other words, an overpayment.

I hope we get an Eichel return. Both have injury issues but Eichel is clearly a 1C, Chych isn't a 1D, that is the difference. But, i hope I am saying I was wrong and you were right!!!
