Come on man how can you defend him tonight, complete lack of heart tonight, just a really soft performance

Marner was atrocious for the best part of 2 months we were told patience he is young (which he and nylander are) nylander lost his confidence in the playoffs it happens terrible timing but it happens. He hasn’t been good, so many posters acting like it’s all on nylander we are losing this series. Chara got the best of him this series

Well actually that's the coach and management's responsibility. But if you want to call someone out, fine.

IMO guys that don't bail on their team when things look bleak are real fans.....but again that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Remember 2 years ago. We lost all those games in OT or they were right to the wire. Never ever complained because they tried their asses off night in and out. This bunch is not hustling and that pisses me off more than anything. I don't see the energy and effort.

Nah its a burden at this point because he's up the lineup while Kapanen is on the 4th line or sitting all season and is infinitely better than anything Brown has done this year
It’s never a burden, easily moveable.

That won't happen. It'll be like Kucherov where he gets 4-5 million and then resigns for like 11 million then.

I agree. I’m just making the point that telling Matthews that Marner is worth more wouldn’t rattle Matthews’ camp.

To Mr. theWave, I didn’t mean for my response to sound snotty. Sorry about that.

He was screened and Krug picked the corner, cmon. Tonight hasn't been on Andersen.
there were two guys in front and they were barely moving it's his job to watch the pointman. If this was the regular season he would hae and would hae stopped it easily

By the way both teams are playing i would think the leafs have the series lead...they look like they are just waiting for the game to finish.

You just needed 2 goals and had almost an entire period to tie it up and THIS is the effort you put in? They deserve to lose.

Earned these losses.

That's still 5-6 years. Good enough. I don't doubt he has a nagging injury but he has taken some hard shots, it just looks like he is not putting in the effort. It looks like effort for both Nylander and Matthews. There are a lot of good players in the NHL that don't elevate in the PO, it's not like that's not a thing.

He killed it last playoffs and people said the same thing about Marner last year, who incidentally is the best player for the Leafs in this series.

4 games doesn't make a playoff resume; especially when he has had injury issues this year and has been matched up against the best defensive center for 3/4 games.

Both.

We had a great regular season, but it's clear they're pretty far away from a championship. I'm not sure it gets better next year either. We're losing a 36 goal scorer and our 27 goal scorer is another year older. I'm betting Marleau is beginning to regret his decision to come here.

Very fair.

I believe they will get better, but this series has exposed the things we really all knew about, but wanted to believe we could overcome with speed and skill.

Given the importance of this game, Marner should be out every other shift at this point.

It's like they thought clinching was good enough and just haven't put in any effort since.

No, i actually think this is really good for us

This knocks our young core off it's "pretty boy" stage.

This is part of our growing pains.

Your Worst Nightmare
JVR is a PP specialist and a liability 5 on 5. He won't be missed much. We're also shedding dead weight in Bozak and Komarov, and hopefully Polak, and have around 20 mil in cap room to bring in real difference makers.

Relax, you debbie downer.
The FA list isn't very inspiring. Tavares isn't going to come here after watching this. We'll have to hope for development from within, but they all look pretty soft and invisible to me.
