While I was a fan of seeing Bart play in this game....the problem with rotating out these D men is that there's gonna come a time where one does sit upstairs and doesn't play consecutive games. It's the nature of the 7th guy...have to come in and be ready to play at a passable level without going to that "cold from sitting in the pressbox" deal.
I don't think he was awful today, I don't think he was great....it's just that consistency is gonna be tough to show when he's (or Krug, or Hamilton) not getting consistent games. It's the flip side of having the impressive depth the Bruins have.
That'll be on Claude and the coaching staff to manage effectively.
I wasn't impressed at all with Bartkowski. He was sloppy and slow in his decision making. I understand he hasn't played yet, but at the same time, if you are getting the opportunity to play, you need to be ready and you need to be smart about what you do on the ice.
I see no reason why Hamilton, who I thought played better than Bart in his 3 games, shouldn't be in the lineup against Detroit.

Iginla quietly played a pretty great game. I had no idea he was so good at killing penalties.
I'm surprised he hasn't netted his first yet. In my opinion he's played well enough to get a few goals already if not for a couple clutch blocks and saves
.
Bruins seem to be throwing all sorts of shots on goal but getting the puck in the net seems to be a problem.
You just can't give a guy like Bart that, by all accounts, was excellent in camp and pre-season just one single game in which he was by no means a catastrophy and the Bs won before you put him back on the shelf. I'm no stranger to putting Dougie back in, but Bart needs at least one more game to show what he can do.

And I see no need for McQuaid to be in the lineup against nonphysical teams, like Detroit, and playing over Bartkowski.

I disagree. McQuiad is part of this squad. We need his physicality. His a tough SOB, hard nose and dedicated player. I want that guy in my line up.
'And I see no need for McQuaid to be in the lineup against nonphysical teams like Detroit' Against nonphysical teams, and skating teams, I prefer their best skating defenceman to be in the lineup.
I know Bart made a couple of mistakes, but he recovered from each. He has great speed and handles the puck well; pretty physical as well.

My issue with Bart is pressure. Can he manage it!!!!
That is why he needs to play.
Hamilton is 19 and is the Bruins defence future. That kid needs to play big time responsible minutes. A short or average stage in Providence would do no harm ... my thoughts.
At this point I don't think Hamilton is able to play in Providence. I could be way off though, that stuff confuses me.
