That's what happens when you're constantly out muscled and scored upon like he has been. He has a rush or two a game that makes you think he might finally turn a corner, but ends up losing the puck in the o-zone. He's just not a good defenseman right now. It also doesn't help that the wingers accepting his passes try to toe drag at the defensive blueline and lose the damn puck every damn damn.

Not only Girard cant shoot the puck, he now also has trouble giving crispy outlet passes to our forwards. But like most have already said, he is being overworked and the ice time should be 2nd pairing D, not on first.
