Smith's actually got pretty goods hands imo...especially for a defenseman. just not an accurate passer.

Well, if he's not an accurate passer, his hands aren't very good.

I mean, Helm scored 40 goals in the WHL and he clearly doesn't have NHL hands. He makes up for it with his legs, but as a defenseman with rocks in his head Smith doesn't have that luxury.

When he could skate around everyone in the CCHA and AHL he seemed like he had good hands, but when there are NHL players there and he has no room, all that's left is the total lack of defensive instincts.
