Gotta develop our UFAs and keep that last playoff spot.

Man, Calgary really dropped the ball. They had a huge chance to gain some valuable ground on us and failed miserably. They now have the same record as VAN does, which is weird because we can't lose to VAN and we can't be them.

If we don't make the playoffs being 2 points up on both teams with 6 games in hand on each, we don't deserve to.

It means KK is the best defensive center no?
No reasons for him to play with two defensive wingers who can't score right?

Putting those two with KK and given them 90% o-zone starts, while TT/Danault/Gallagher and Drouin/Suzuki/Anderson gets most of the d-zones starts, is just plain Pejorative Slured. At this point, I have to join conspiracists and think that the older players just don't want to play with KK or MB is asking the coach to play him with scoreless wingers so he can lowball him on his next contract.

The thing is, Byron-Danault-Lehkonen are actually really good together.

The series against Pittsburgh turned in our favor when they were put together. No doubt it was because offensive players were playing with offensive players.

But they were also damn good together. It's really a shame Ducharme doesn't see it - at least not yet.

Danault doesn't want to play with Byron and Lehkonen. Getting put with them is what lead to his comment about not wanting to be only a "defensive forwards" and he was back with Tatar/Gally before the playoff were done...

Too bad for him...

Having said that, this is an emergency situation with Toffoli and Armia out and Staal in Quarantine. I think he can be convinced to do what's best for the te as m for 7 days.

It shouldn't matter if he wants to play with them or not. Ducharme should put the best lineup together with the players he has to give the team the best chance to win.

Phil gonna Phil...
Mete's agent took notes on that, and then put his 2 cents in this year, on the lineup too.

Funny when Paul "waiver claim" "pk specialist" Byron has twice the career-goal totals and more points as Phil "offensive dynamo" Danault.

For what it's worth, Lehkonen also has more goals, and in less games, than "Not a Defensive Forward" Danault.

Wait, has the bolded been a theory for real? Why would they not want to play with a better player? Or are our older Habs players just that insecure about themselves?

No, I don't think thats true.

Whats true though is that Danaults a complete cancer and he shoudlve been shipped out months ago. As far as I know, he's the only player that has made this type of comments towards teammates on this team. (Playing time is one thing, teammates is another.)

And Danault has repeated that in their postgame victory against the Canucks.

When asked about the line they play on both Gally and Tatar gave a generic "It doesnt matter what line were on, we have to work and find ways to win."

Danault said something along the lines that "Thats the best hockey I play and thats who I want to play with"

Nobody likes to see it but Tatar-Danault-Gallagher are playing very good hockey together, you need them against McDrai.

I would have switched Suzuki and KK though until Toffoli returns, KK deserves it and Suz gets PP time, anyway.

Time for Frolik to come out with a statement game - raise his trade value and allow Bergevin to pull off another Scandella/Kovalchuk like flip at the deadline ;).

Looks like we're missing Armia, Toffoli, Staal, Caufield, and Chiarot
