This is why I'm eternally grateful for 3 on 3 OT. Anything is better than that. Howard can't stop a shot, shooters can't score. We're arguably the worst SO team in the league, I love 3 on 3.

I know everyone is going to be quick to blame Howard but he played well in this game.

He may struggle in Shootouts but you're not going to win regardless of goalie when you can't score on your shots.

Howard versus Oshie and Kuz is a disaster. 3 on 3 overtime really harms the Caps, they might lose one shootout all year under the old system. Holtby's good at them and they just added Oshie who is easily the greatest shootout player in the league. You knew we were done as soon as it got there.

Needed to be better tonight.

This team will go no where if we don't get the PowerPlay going. They need to attack the net. It doesn't make sense having a net front presence when the other 4 players are just going to sit on the perimeter and not shoot the puck.

As bad as Howard is at the shootout, our forwards are just as bad and if we didn't decide to give up 40 shots again we could have won this game... This game falls far from Howard's fault. If your going to blame the goalie for not stopping them, blame the players for not scoring, and literally repeating the same 3 year old moves...

Anyone know why we keep throwing datsuyk out there in the shootout? The dude is a shadow of his former self in the skills competition. When was the last time he scored a shootout goal? 2012? Certainly feels like it

Honestly we were gifted the game on that PP and our leaders went out there and stunk once again. Its getting more and more obvious that Dats and Z aren't the best players on this team anymore.

Besides that not the best performance but the shot disparity doesn't do justice to how well the team played tonight.

I don't understand why Datsyuk gets the nod either. He's pretty much irrelevant outside of puck possession. His offensive skill is long gone.
