Well the opposite of a liability would actually contribute something offensively and defensively.

He basically just keeps the score constant really well. Which is okay, it's just not good enough for a top 6 forward.

He's pretty clearly going through a serious patch of both bad luck and gripping the stick too tight. He's getting to the right spots while the puck is there and then having it hop over his stick, or getting his stick hacked in half, or shanking it, or whatever.

Even top six forwards go through stretches, sometimes even extended ones, where **** just isn't working out. That's life. As long as he's getting to the right spots at the right times, eventually one will bank in off of his face or something and things will work out. If you think you're frustrated about it, imagine how he's feeling. The guy pretty certainly cares more than you do.

That's true. Elite goaltenders like Quick put up stats like .902 sv% last year and .905 sv% this year. Clearly in a whole tier above a scrub like Luongo.

Funny how those sample sizes count for Quick but you have no problem hand waving them away for Lu.
