I can't remember the exact shift, but I did notice some desperation from AA on a back check last night. I wouldn't go as far as "disinterested" as slumping bad. Everything about his game right now just isn't crisp. Even his shootout attempt was sloppy for him.

I saw him throw his body around last night. He's trying he's just way off his game.

Erixon could just as easily go in for Savard. I'm really not sure what Richardson is looking at, but Savard really don't impress me. Less and less as time goes on. I don't hate him, but I think Erixon is a much better option. For that matter, so is Golo.

Either way, Erixon should be in there tonight.

I can't wait to see Erixon, but I'd prefer if Savard stayed in and Nikitin sat (or was traded).

So we had a total break down/let down performance last night, after playing 5 solid games. Time to get back on track and show the fans, the league, and themselves, that last night was a total fluke and aberation.

I'd really like to see Erixon.

I can't wait for Calvert to get back (tomorrow?)

Jackets win.

My thoughts as well.

I was met with strong disagreement after complaining about the effort five games in this year. Sometimes it sucks to be proven correct. Last night was the most disgraceful performance I've seen from this team since a 7, maybe 8-3 beatdown against the visiting 'Hawks back in 07-08.

5-1, Cal-GARY. Right now I hate hockey almost as much as my ex-wife.

Did you watch the game against Philly a couple years back?

Forgot about that one. Was that the same game where Arniel said to keep piling on? Games like these are a big reason I have trouble getting the bartenders to turn the Jackets on instead of some meaningless college football game featuring 3-loss teams battling for an invitation to the Tampax Bowl.

... you are funny Jorge.. It is true this stuff has gone on for years, I can't figure it out any more than you or anyone else. We've changed everything but the paint in Nationwide over the last 10 years.. Perhaps the beat down yesterday will be a turning point...

Sorry for the 7-0 beatdown by the Oilers. I guess I was too complacent yesterday, wow. I'll never make another GDT without putting on my gameface.

But seriously, what happened? The team can't handle success, they weren't ready to play? Richard's presser was a little mild for what happened.

It looked like they all went out with Bob and Bryz and got hammered the night before.

To be honest until I put up my Bob avatar we were doing good... if we get beat tonight it goes...

I don't know if I've posted anything on these boards since the season started, so here maybe I could give some luck. I'll say Jackets 1 Calgary 0.

It helps to be proven correct if you wait until circumstances match your opinion to remind everyone. I don't think I remember you posting after the Ottawa game, for instance.

you posted this too, fwiw

Nice work tonight. The passing is looking so much better than it was a week ago, and what about the Wiz getting 1 + 2? When I have the flu I lay in bed with porn and a bottle of bourbon. Wiz gets the third star.

Very excited for Friday night. I think the next seven out of eight are at home; time to take advantage, eh?

It's a young team, they're going to be like this for awhile, for better or worse. I'm as disappointed with last night as anyone. I wanted to break things. Expensive things. Yet at the same time, it's one game, and not the norm at all. They play tonight like they did last night then I'll be really concerned. They've just went through a stretch where they gathered points and played fairly well. Not perfect, but there was a sense a corner had been turned. IMO, last night was a team taking a W for granted. You'd think they'd realize that you can't do that given their position as the team taken for granted most of the time, but it's all part of the process. No one ever said it was going to be an easy ride.

I hope we win. Last nights game was the first game of the season I didn't watch to the end.

Same here. First game in a long time. The last game I turned off before it was over was the Colorado game at or near the end of Hitch's run when the CBJ gave up two shorthanded goals. I was pretty much equally disgusted after the first period yesterday. The first 10 of the second period were improved and managed to hook me for a little longer, but as we all watched, things got worse....

I wish I knew what to expect tonight, but I don't, none of us do on here, I bet Coach Richards doesn't even know which group is going to be out there tonight. If we score first, I like our chances. But if we come out on our heels again and get blown by early, it's going to be another long 60 minutes of hockey, I fear. 1 hour til faceoff, for better or for worse.

I've been trying to think if there were any warning signs for last night. All I can come up with is the the 2nd Caps game, giving up the lead in the final couple minutes and getting run around. With Arniel's teams, 7-0 losses were almost predictable, but the way this team seems to play/had been playing meant last night was a bit of a blindside.

Anyway, I'd expect a spirited effort tonight but with Dubi out who knows. Someone will have to step up. I see the Flames winning tonight.
