Sucks losing. But the Wings hung with a Black Hawks team that seemed to have sold their souls to the hockey gods. This is an injured Wings team mind you.

Once they start having more than 1 first line. 1 3rd line... 1 4th line...and a 4th line with Datsyuk on it, I'm sure they wont be so easy to shut down.

It was a good game, though. Howard played well. That Kane goal in the shoot out was a good snipe. /shrug Big E....played well until the last 2 minutes. Ugh WHYYYYYY!

Oh well. At least you know the Black Hawks aren't unbeatable. Wings pretty much beat themselves the last 2 minutes.

It is plays like the Ericcson penalty that cost your team the game.

Our next 5 games are against weaker opponents.

We have to win these.

How many games have the Wings lost within the last two minutes of the period?

You are eventually going to run out of silver linings.

Wings have also lost a bunch of games with leads. Some with 2 goal leads. You're absolutely right, losers find a way to lose. This game should have been a solid regulation W.

I guess until we hit Columbus status, some people aren't going to admit the team isn't that good.

To the apologists saying "We need to keep Tatar on the 3rd line because otherwise we're a 2 line team."

Right now, we're a 1 line team. Abby points total all season. Still 1. Yeah. That's not a scoring line. Look at the game objectively and realize that the team desperately needs to make adjustments and no one is making them.

snatching defeat from the jaws of victory springs to mind.
To throw it all away on a dumbass delay penalty and a swing and a miss clearence is hard to take. :shakehead

You give me one good excuse as to why Ericsson made that dumb ass play & cost the Wings the game? You have 1?

Puck rolled on him? It happens. It was bad luck. I'm sure Ericsson wasnt standing there thinking. Hmmm. 2 mins left. Up by 1. Lets make this interesting.

Do you ever get the impression that we're all watching different games this year?

"Kindl was great!"
"No, Kindl sucked! Franzen too!"
"No Franzen was good, Brunner too!"
"No, Brunner sucked but Datsyuk was awesome!"

Well, actually Datsyuk has been in a pretty bad slump these last few games.

You guys are fools. Babcock didn't lose the game..Ericsson did. That penalty was inexcusable at best and he should fall on his sword for that one.

LOL

We're fools?

With one stupid line change, we lost a line had the puck 80 percent of the time to a line that never has the puck anymore.

You take perhaps the best setup man in the league and give him two stiffs who can't get open, can't pass and can't shoot.. and you nullify your best offensive weapon before the game begins.

You need a reality check.

Babcock needs his head examined and a ticket out of down..

He was the best defenseman by far along with Kindl today. Maybe if the PK gets the puck out they don't score. Is it Big E's fault the Wings put up 1 goal today? 1 goal. Last 3 games, 4 goals. 4.

It's his damn fault when he forgets how to get the puck out of the zone within the last 2 minutes with absolutely no one around him. Are you serious? That's not just a little mistake. He had no one, zero skaters around him. He failed mentally. He had a good game wasted because he forgot how to clear the puck. That cost us. Yes we scored only gaol but we had the lead and control of the puck leaving our zone. He messed up big time. End of.

Where was his outlet Winger? Coming back into the zone for a pass right? Nope. It was a mistake for sure. Not saying it wasn't. 1 goal today. That is all.

Datsyuk has been completely shut down for how many games now? The only time his line looks competent is when Datsyuk keeps the puck the entire possession.

Uh, yeah. Find a star center with worse wingers right now? You can't.

It's amazing that his line is still playing against top lines without giving up a lot of goals.

I totally agree bob, I mean come on Mike why did you put that puck out of play. oh wait that was Ericsson.
you're becoming a broken record, normally I enjoy reading your post but now its just the same thing everyday.

It's gonna be the same thing everyday until Babcock smartens up or gets fired:)

If we've got a Datsyuk line playing the way a Datsyuk line usually does, that's an amazing asset. You've got the puck in their end 80 percent of the time. You're wearing out their defense.

The wings are out playing almost every team they face. If they wernt that good that wouldn't happen. Of course they're a one line team they have 2 top 6 forwards out and helm being out screws everything up. They're a top 5 team in the west when healthy Imo.

Complain, complain, complain. :whine:

Does it ever get tiring for some of you to cry all the time?

Sure, this was a heartbreaking loss and it would have been nice to end the Hawks streak but we played an excellent game against the hottest team in the NHL and got an important point out of it. There are a lot of positives to take away from this game. Our defense continues to play very responsibly. Our bottom six continues to contribute in big ways. Howard was awesome.

So you've never seen a team win 1-0? Wings had it. Ericsson blew it. You know it, I know it.

What do you purpose he does? Take Tatar off the third line, and then watch the other coach just match their top lines against the 3rd and 4th lines against the Wings?

I tell you what Q did. He matched he top lines against Datsyuk's line, and Zetterberg's line, obviously. But he made a point to go after the Wings 2nd line, and their 4th line. Why was the 3rd line mostly untouched? They generated the most today.

You move Tatar to Datsyuk's wing, especially when they are injured, you pretty much are in the same situation. Probably worse off. You still have a weak second line that MAY be able to produce just a little bit more; it's not proven. But you weaken the 3rd line so much that, THAT line will be a target. So will the 4th line AND the 2nd line. The other coaches will have a field day!

At least the 3rd and 1st line are clicking. THe 4th line...that is what it is. They do what they do. The 2nd line? At least Datsyuk can hold it together. the 3rd line? Tatar and Andersson are what hold that line together.

Get healthy...go from there.

In a 48-game season, there's no such thing as a morale victory. You win or you don't.

the problem is all the other team has to do it key in on him and it wont score with cealry and abbby draggin the line down.
Ericson lost the game with that bad penility. And it was a bad one. :shakehead
Babcock with Xetterberg in the shootout with his 5% shootout percent. :shakehead
